My FR-S rolled away

Parked my car like always, then remembered to move it back from the garage so I could get my motorcycle out. It was late at night, around midnight. About 15 minutes later, I'm inside talking to my buddy and we hear a strange sound outside. Sort of a crunch. My buddy looks outside and says "someone hit your car" as I am running for the front door. I open it to find my FR-S about 30 feet away from where I parked it, against another car bumper that was across from me.
Good news: it hit my old Honda Accord.
Better news: No damage.

Damn that was lucky!

I did that at a gas station when I first started driving manual. Parked, went in to pay (cash) and came out to see my car sitting about 10 ft away from the pump with it's nose buried in a bush.

In before comments about noses in bushes.

The opposite happened for my then-GF. We went to test drive an auto FRS when they first came out, and she pulled out of the dealers lot with the handbrake up. I was embarrassed for her.

Happened to my old Chevy Sprint. I parked, set the hand brake but left it in neutral. When it cooled down it rolled off the drive way, down the lawn, across a busy 4-lane road, and stopped when it jumped the opposite curb.

A guy pulled in to alert me to the incident. Evidently all traffic stopped while my car rolled slowly across the road.

I think that story is all BS. How do you know your car rolled off when it had "cooled down"

I love it when mashal posts. I don't know why but I just do.

This happens to everyone at least once in their life. I was lucky and my roll away didn't hit anybody/thing or do any damage to my car (Prelude).

That's why you always park a manual in 1st gear.
Reverse if it's on a backward slope and leave the handbrake off in the garage.

You have to have the clutch down to start it so there's no danger of cranking it into anything any more.

Put it in gear.

I'm still thinking about noses and "shrubs". Hey I'm in my late 40's, but most of you guys prolly never see shrubs.

A little foliage never hurt anybody. Just remember to floss.
