Turbo STI BRZ Confirmed?

Just thought I would do a search on the STI version of our favorite car. If this is true you know it will be in the states as well. I think I will wait for this one.

Confirmed without a source? Unlikely. Subaru has said several times in the past that the STI version will be NA.

Why would Subaru spend the R&D money to produce both a turbo and supercharged version of this car? If they end up going FI, I have to imagine they'll decide on one and stick with it to keep costs down (I seriously doubt having both would sell significantly more than having just one).

I heard an 800hp V12 TRDSTI Toyobaru BR-S made entirely of unobtanium alloy weighing in at 8lbs 3oz is in the making. I'm probably going to hold onto my downpayment and wait for that one.

Don't count your chickens bro, the odds of that being legit are analogous to the existance of dragons.

(copy - paste ) CONFIRM ???
Subaru has revealed it will be producing supercharged and turbocharged STI version of the BRZ in the UK.

The BRZ was jointly developed with Toyota and it's engineers have fiercely ruled out a turbo version of the sister-model, the GT86.

Toyota is against using turbocharging technology in the GT86, preferring the driving experience of a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre Boxer.

Subaru’s STI version plans will help to further differentiate the BRZ from the GT86 which are currently the same price for the base level model at £24,995.

Subaru is hoping to attract “the ardent enthusiast seeking a more focused performance package”.

Rumor mill has it slated for the day of reckoning. I plan on wearing a solid statement business suit; just making that known so no one else shows up with the same suit. I hate that .

That actually PROVES that they don't have a reliable source and nohting is confirmed.

The important part is here:

TRD has already announced a supercharger in development. So this article is no more accurate than any of the BS journalism that preceded the release of the FT. You know, like how our cars would go on sale at dealerships on April 20th, or that the stock block would handle 500hp.

And why in the world would Subaru waste development money on both Supercharged and Turbo charged variants of the BRZ?? That's just plain idiotic. And there's no way they'd come to market with a compound-charged engine. $50K BRZ anyone?

The ONLY time info like this is "confirmed" is when the manufacturer sits the production model on a plinth in Detroit or some other international auto show and says "Here it is!" Until that happens, everything's just varying levels of BS.
