Proper placement for a cutout valve?

Hi everyone,

Like a lot of folks here, I'm in a love/hate relationship with the stock muffler.
Love because it can be super quite which is super pleasant in some situations.
Hate because it is super quite which is super unpleasant in some situations.

That's why I would like to install an exhaust cutout on my stock muffler.

Problem:
There isn't much room.

Challenge:
I want the cutout to flow back into one of the tailpipes. So, if the cutout leaks when shut, the frrrrrrrpppp sounds can be covered by the stock exhaust sound. Plus, it's much cleaner than just deviating the exhaust gas towards the ground.

After many many design attempts, I believe the easiest way to do so is to wield the tubing on the right

My concern and question is: Do you think the sound that's coming out of the 4th chamber will please the ear?

It's pretty hard, in such setup to place the valve anywhere else.

In advance, thank you for your eventual contribution.
Have a nice day,
RW

Well, now, that looks to be an interesting project.

What would it sound like? I reckon the only way to find out is to try it ....

It would seem to me that by placing a cut-out coming out of the muffler, it would create a turbulence in the exhaust flow, which would not be good.

If you proceed, please let us know how it turns out.

Wouldn't this make your exhaust even more quiet?
Or are you planning on changing other parts of your exhaust aswell?

I think the best way to find out is to try it. It's not an approach I would take personally because you'll be adding a decent amount of weight to the already very heavy stock exhaust system.

Great on a JDL UEL header with Nameless Catted and Resonated FP. Terrible on a ACE 350 + ACE FP.
