Crawford's well known for being overpriced - not garbage, but for that kind of money the goose better lay golden eggs. You can't argue they haven't succeeded, but honestly they've been riding the Ken Block success wave since what, 2008?

Well, it's not even phenolic because the spacers are billet aluminum, not the space age plastic stuff. It sounds exactly like phenolic intake spacers though.

Just read the upate on page 1... Interesting to see gains like that from a set of spacers... Gives me high hopes for a proper intake manifold

anyways.. clearly you can see this is an engine dyno and not a rolling dyno by the numbers... i have faith in them if they are taking the tuning this far. how many tuners have an engine dyno on hand to create parts? Those things cost a lot of $$$.

So before you bash, I would wait to see what the whole package is
How many tuners blow up engines to sell parts?

umm, a few i know have blown up engines. I've called around to most of the major companies asking questions about the engine and what seems to go first.

i know of at least 4 companies that are on their 3rd engine.

The way forums work, if they post they blow something up, people get scared and turn the other direction. This is well... because people are dumb and react without any hard information to back up their actions.

So i will keep those companies anonymous.

There is a difference between blowing engines while pushing the limits and claiming the engine is weak in order to bolster sales.

yeah i know this. From my own experience. I wouldnt go turbo without building the engine first. yeah there are 600whp dyno queen FRS/BRZ's out there but they wouldnt last 2 laps on a track in 110ºF heat without being built

crawford does suck ass on this platform. i've always held them in very high regard, from back in my wrx days. the whole 'the sky is falling... our engine blew at 200-something hp! oh btw... check out our new engine building program' thing kind of ruined it for me.

Crawford Billet Power Blocks

Its cool that Crawford are a bunch of tards and what not, but regarding the product itself, and I'm asking people that actually know what they're talking about, are such gains possible ?

Heres a link !

thats it? lol

i could see some use for them though!

If it raised the manifold higher , thus raising the throttle body, a better design on the inlet pipe for supercharged users could be made!

also if it did make any gains it would be an added bonus!

this would be to solve any clearance issues between the supercharger belt and the inlet pipe

Id like to point out spacers do work... I had one in my old mustang and dynod it before and after. The results were real, but I find it hard to believe it's good for that much power up top.

Changes to runner length have a significant impact on pulse tuning and would result in a noticeable shift in the power curve. Looking at the dyno on page 1 I find it odd that the change in power band are only there after 4000rpm. In addition, the dyno plot shows no loss in power below 4000rpm and a significant gain everywhere above. I find it hard to believe that the engineers at Toyota/Subaru would have not designed a longer runner manifold to take advantage of this. I will also point out that the torque rise between 5500rpm and 6500rpm is very similar to that of gains found from tuning.

I am not saying that this product does not work, though I would like to see 3rd party tests before I am totally convinced.

Is it just me or their baseline on the dyno is crazy high for a stock BRZ ?
