I moved here in March. Everyone here is nice and welcoming. The designer of the road systems deserves to be drawn and quartered, but other than that, I'm quite happy here.

I'm an old fart though, so I don't generally hang out with boi-racers at 2 am on the highways to do illegal racing.

Saturday's SIST3RS Run

Yep. It's looking good! "Mostly Sunny" - High Temp 60°. Low in the upper 30's. I'm looking forward to this one for sure! Should be a fun group!!

Meet-up at The Apple Store @ 9AM, Medina, Texas. We'll roll out NLT 9:30. Usual 10 min. stop at the Stripes station in Leakey, TX for last chance gas or restroom. Several of us usually fill up with gas in Bandera and that easily gets you back to San Antonio...please don't show up in Medina with less than a 1/4 tank of gas! Medina to Leakey is about 40 miles. Plan A: Counter Clockwise run with a brief stop @ 336 and 41 and a bridge stop on 335. Lunch at the Bent Rim Grill following the run. FRS/GMRS radio channel 5-0. Typical Disclaimer...everyone voluntarily participates at their own risk and ft86club.com, organizer(s) and/or lead driver(s) have no liability whatsoever in case of accident or injury. Safety is the #1 priority. Pay attention. Do not exceed the limitations of your driving skills or your vehicle. This is not a race. If we encounter wet roads, bicycle riders, slow traffic, loose gravel, etc.....slow down. Watch out for radar traps on the way to Medina. We'd all rather wait for you to be a few minutes late than for you to get a ticket speeding. Just a reminder...only AT&T cell phone service works in Leakey and on the actual run there is likely no cell phone connectivity. Newbys...we'll have a bit more information for you in Medina. Don't hesitate to ask questions. https://goo.gl/maps/EeoV9

Super stoked for this! So a couple things. Just out of curiosity, what's the general age average? I don't want to be the youngest (25) out there, though that doesn't really matter to me. Also, what time should be show up? I'll probably get there around 8:45, if not earlier.

As for the radar traps, I've never run into those on the roads I've driven. So what's the point in having them out there? Are the local authorities just assholes looking to piss people off (at least that's what my father has said as he rides through there a lot), or is it a genuine concern?

One more check to see if anyone is interest in a pre-meetup on Friday. If not it's not big. I hope ya'll have fun out there, wish I could go!

Ages are all over the road map. Good mix of ages. Younger folks, guys, girls, and some others that may be a few years more experienced, like Extreme and I.

Can't say on the radar. May just be trying to enforce rules. But sometimes it can get nitpicky. Like when I got pulled over because my front plate was tilted. Who knows.

Saturday Drive Tips:

Thanks to @Extreme86 for all the drive rules and directions. Here are some veteran tips that will make the drive better for everyone, so please read and try to follow these:

1. Bring some snacks and hydration. It will be a long day and these are not always available during the day - we will be out in a VERY remote area.
2. Gas up in Bandera prior to arrival in Medina.
3. Use the restrooms in Medina and in Leakey.
4. When we reach Leakey for our gas/pit stop, top off your gas and you will be good until you get back to Bandera.
5. We will stop once or twice for pics/break during the loop drive to/from Leakey, so bring a camera.
6. Be Safe and Have Fun
