I have complete rear diff assembly that was professionally installed onto my 2017 86 with auto factory 4.5 final drive gears. I also upgraded to the Cusco solid pinion spacer instead of the stock crush washer at the same time.
5k miles on 4.5 FD gears 9k miles on the rest of diff assembly. Gears are high quality with absolutely no gear whine or extra noise, which is the reason I paid more and opted for these gears instead of some others that have been known to be noisy and whine. I paid about 650$ + a 50$ exchange rate fee (not shown on receipt but total paid showed on transaction) for 4.5 FD+Solid Spacer from RHDjapan I purchased a low mileage 2017 FD assembly for 415$ on eBay that I installed into my car when pulling this 4.5 FD assembly off that is for sale now. I had the shop initially do the entire install (pull pumpkin and install gears) for 900$ but was quoted 450$ if they just installed the gears. So total value approximately 1565$ Selling 950$ OBO local pick up near Seattle WA - Everett WA area Or 1100$ OBO shipped to lower 48 states. For anyone doing the diff swap themselves. It is actually pretty quick and easy. Should be able to take your time and get diff pulled including setup in under an hour. Then reverse the steps for install. Need Jack stands Jack Various sockets i think 12-19mm 10mm hex key for plugs Highly recommend axle puller tool for about 20$ makes removal and install of axles a breeze. Put car on stands, remove muffler back exhaust, drain diff, put jack under rear diff jacking point, remove 4 bolts to driveshaft and move out of way, remove all 5 bolts on rear diff, slowly lower diff until it is about to be hanging from axles, pull axles (be careful especially when removing second axle not to knock diff off jack but if jack is positioned correctly it balances pretty well) now reverse steps for re assembly. I tried two other guides on here and ended up doing it this way, way easier and faster. A video of this method done in under 15mins. Last edited by 86TOYO2k17; 07-24-2019 at 05:23 PM. |

How did you come about the value of 1500 if the parts only cost 560ish?

The gears themselves arent 700. He also purchased a transmission mount. Not used for rear differentials. The gears were 506, and another 55 for the cusco pinion sleeve. All im saying gonna be hard getting over a grand for it. So glws

Neither. A 2017 rear diff assembly with 9k miles with a auto factory (not mfactory, mfactory is whiny and loud.) 4.5final drive gear ratio already swapped in by a local shop with 5k miles on it.

Packaged ready to ship out, looks like about 150$ for shipping all the way across country to east coast.

Pallet + packaging + diff is 104lbs. Diff alone is probably a good 80lbs. Has to be on a pallet to ship safely. And pallet shipping is extra, plus extra for “lift gate” home pick up and “lift gate” home delivery. And WA to NY was about 150$. So I’m sure west coast/PNW is a lot cheaper.
