Bought the car about 6 months ago, paying for it in full would have left me with less than my 'buffer' in my checking account so I financed part of it. I've already put over $2K into it and figured I should probably buy the car first before I spend even more money on mods or track days. So, today I paid it off, she's all mine now!

In the middle of a trans and rear diff oil change. Just getting back into working on cars after a 10-12 year break so it is taking longer then it should between taking my time and missing tools.

And damn it is harder to get up and down then it used to be.

Paid $100 for a nearly new hood in my color, replaced and almost perfectly aligned given rushing due to the weather.

So, did you find out that old floor jack didn't work, because the seals had dried out .. ??

The tools you needed weren't where you thought you had left them .. ??

I know I had a trouble light ...... ??

Now where did I put that suck-em up, squirt-em out oil thing I used to have .. ??

Damn, this concrete is hard ..... ??

The orange stuff I used to clean off my hands has all dried up .... ??

Why did I start this, I could have taken it up to local shop, had a cup of coffee, read a Hot Rod magazine and been back taking a nap by now ......

Had to buy a new jack cause the old one was too big to fit under the car.

My dad used and did not put back tools where they belong after I left for military, so if they where there at all they where in the wrong place.

Had to go to auto zone for tools I used to have that are gone.

Jacked up half the car only to realize two stands where just too large and would not work. Went to buy new ones.

Forgot I needed orange shit with the grit so used copious amounts of dish soap.

And damn that concrete is hard lmao! (Back surgery last year which lead to early mid life crisis and the purchase of this car)

But in the end I miss having a project car. I am not sure if I am more excited to track my car or have fun bleeding all over it while pulling it apart and cussing like the sailor I am.

That red with the shiny black looks terrific and classy. Can't imagine a better color combo. Goes with the interior too. Are you going to get one of those gear knobs with a red-back spider to cap it off?

Another #trackdaybro. Going into this weekend I had three new things to try out: (1) my new trailer / corn cart; (2) a brand new set of Dunlop Direzza Z2 Star Specs; and (3) my new harnesses.

Trailer was great (once it had some weight on it). Tires were great. Harnesses were great. Had a lot of good sessions. In fact, I shaved 5 whole seconds off my best lap time from last month. Here's the lap in question:

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=me1IoCjqU6g"]Texas World Speedway CCW 5/15/16 Fastest Lap - YouTube[/ame]

But not everything was sunshine and roses. On the morning of day 2 I noticed my left rear tire was significantly lower than the others. I pull it off to have a look:

My brand new tire had a nail in it.

And somewhere along the line, my windshield decided it couldn't even. No obvious rock chips, no impact, nothing. It just broke.

But yeah. Good weekend.
