Someone posted a sound clip of an unresonated catless exhaust. I remember it being raspy, maybe a bit hollow. I'm thinking I'll be doing a resonated catted headerback.

Nor do they require checking your facts or posting truthful information apparently...

If you end up doing headers then I bet you it will be loud enough even if you get the back resonated.

IMHO, I say non-resonated. It's how the car should sound. To me, if you're going to spend money on a CBE might as well listen to the motor purrrrrrrr.

BTW, I've noticed lately since the weather cooled down a bit that there is a "slight" rattle coming from the back end of the car. It's definitely coming from the exhuast. I just can't pinpoint where as I don't have a lift. Any of you guys see/hear/felt the same? I hear it when I'm at a stop with my foot on the brakes. Don't hear it as soon as I lift. Starting to bother a bit.

He's right. Check your plate. Mine was doing the same thing. I took the frame off and it was gone.

Just installed the resonated Perrin CBE and I'm loving it so far...but I also do hear a slight rattle sometimes. When I first start up the car I hear it...and also when I'm stopped and blip the throttle very slightly...only sometimes though and doesn't really bother me yet, but it'd be nice to get rid of it.

I'll check the license plate but I'd be surprised if that's what it is for me, since I have special "rattle-stop" stuff on my plate. Will report back.

if you just installed the exhaust it is most likely coming from a clearance issue.

+1, some users were reporting the resonator was coming into contact with the transmission tunnel. A little "tap tap" with a rubber mallet on the tunnel should fix that, if that's your issue.

I said it before and I'll say it again: The un-resonated exhaust might be fine noise and sound-wise as just a catback, but I fear for how it will sound when the full exhaust system is replaced - header/overpipe/mid-pipe. Could get too loud and obnoxious. As I plan on doing a full exhaust, I think I'll stick with the resonated.

Don't hit the car. Just modify the midpipe mounting bracket if needed (widen the slot for the bolt).
