Thumbs up Toyota FT-86 G Sports Concept to reemerge - @ Australian International Motor Show

Fans of the Toyota FT-86 G Sports Concept can continue holding out hope that a production version may be built at some point. Toyota Australia has just confirmed that the Turbo FT-86 G Sports Concept (See our Official Thread HERE) which was revealed at the last Tokyo Auto Salon will make its Australian debut at this year's Australian International Motor Show, which will take place in Sydney October 14-24.

Based on the FT-86 concept unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show late last year, this modified, turbo-charged show-piece was developed to help promote Toyota's new G Sports styling kits, exclusive to the Japanese market.

At the launch of the original FT-86 concept in Tokyo, Toyota President Akio Toyoda said the company needed to reconnect with younger buyers by producing fun-to-drive models.

That Toyota keeps showing the FT-86 in the same concept forms gives us hope that the design has not changed dramatically (as previously rumored) and the production form will follow these concepts closely.

The more photos I see the more it grows on me. Everytime it gets better and better lol.
And I just noticed how similar the rear lights are to an RX7-FD

ugghhhh, fml I want one! Seriously all this waiting and rumours. This thing looks soooo sick! I wonder what the G-sport power output is with the turbo 2.0 liter though, most likely awesome but im still curious. Turbo + 2.0 Boxer + RWD = 0% fail possibilities...

Don't really want most of what is on this one so I don't really care if its Japan only.

When I see the side shot of the front fender it screams 'GT-R!' to me. But then I remembered that Toyota does something similar with the Lexus ISF front fender...

I think I like the original a lot better than the G Sport concept. Too ricey...

Got a source from Toyota Australia? Or a press release? Or anything? I'm seriously about to book tickets to fly down and I need some kind of official statement, haha.

Toyota will stage the international motor-show debut of its FT-86G Sports Concept car in October at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney.

The FT-86G is Toyota's second concept that previews a next-generation rear-wheel-drive sports coupe.

i wonder how much heavier it is with all that bullcrap bolted on, granted the hood is probably a good benefit of being lighter, the inlet fins just look terrible and functionally I wonder how much they add to the turbo.
I gotta say, I love the sleek look of the a-pillars

If OEM hood is made out of aluminum, than that CF hood doesn't mean anything.
