I'm taking my coworker to pick up his RS1.0 tomorrow. That shift knob is the bees knees.

Obviously an AT. Wanted a manual, but couldn't get my hands on one in my area. Couple of dealerships listed them, but they were all called for. Have to say the AT is growing on me though. I value the auto with the 80 miles I drive everyday. I like the manual paddles the other 5 miles in off highway I drive. The paddle shifters are way better than other vehicles I have had. Clean shifting, NO hesitation at all. I also operate in snow country in Upstate NY. So the snow traction control has already proven its worth. That's something the MT doesn't have. I'm going to drive it this winter and see how it does rather than drive the rat.

I bought this on 12/1. I didn't order ahead and thought I was screwed. I was talking to dealers within 200 miles and couldn't get my hands on one. Fantastically my local dealer took delivery of (the only) one they preordered and called me literally when it came off the truck. They prepped the car, I drove it (no one else got the chance) and I happily paid for it on the spot. I took it home the next day after they peeled off the stickers and got it rust proofed for me.

Already have the local speed shop drooling over it. They want to drop an Jackson HP supercharger in it for me. Its gonna cost $6500 installed though (5k for the junk and 1.0 to 1.5k for the labor tops). Worried about breaking the car with it though now (I got a lead foot). I won't install it until spring though either way (interested in opinions on it). I'll have to search the other forums to see longer term outcomes on super installs before I pull the trigger.

Awesome, I'm still torn between the manual and auto. Does the dealer salesmen give you some time to teach you how to drive manual?

The vast majority of car salesmen I have dealt with don't know how to drive manuals themselves much less teach anybody!

They didn't? Ya that would suck as it helps make them special (even if just too the owner)

I mean I got that cool blue interior that only series blue has, but a little plaque would make me feel even more special

@miyoshi82, for the danged money, they should give a couple quick lessons. It's pretty easy actually. I am sure you could pick it up in a few minutes. I am certain there are a couple people in any dealership that would be very happy to spend time in the car to help out lol!

I do know that they will refuse to let you do donuts in the parking lot though. I begged and tried to shame the salesman, but he was insistent that I couldn't try. I did swing the ass end of the car out on a couple corners and I think the salesman pee'd himself a little. His feet were pumpin' the passenger side brakes.

Update on the automatic in manual mode (paddle shift); it's fantastic when its cold. Snaps gears like pro drag hearst shifter, I am seriously impressed with the gear box. When its hot though, after 50 miles of driving I notice it seems to bounce a little between gears (a little rubber band hesitation feel to it). Hopefully that will calm down after its broken in more. If not I may spring for an oil cooler to keep it cold and avoid that problem.

@brianFKNmyers, put me down for Syracuse NY for #504. I know there are only 1500 of these, but damn if I don't still get jealous when I see all you guys with one too, lmao! I love this car!

No badges? That's a downer, they should have done that, its a pride badge! The series blues are nice! I did hear from another guy that the Harmon stereo they put in them has a under power problem. Hard to hear it at speed? Is that true? The Pioneer in the RS1 kicks serious db's, its better than the aftermarket amplified stereo system I put in my last car. I was impressed with the audio quality in it. It needs a bit more sub woofer in my eyes, but I can live with It for now.

Do you recommend getting the extended warranty on a RS 1.0 considering it has TRD parts and those can either be hard to come by later on and/or they can cost an arm and a leg compared to regular FRS parts?

I haven't had my stereo to max volume even once. I do like to hear my engine , so most of the time it's very quiet. But when I'm on the expressway I turn it up to halfway and it's all good, I can hear the music just fine. I'm not a big loud music/subwoofer/audio system junkie so I might not be the right person to ask.
