Why not get headers. They are the part of the exhaust that with a tune give the most increase in HP

Although I do agree that this car needs just a little more umph in power, it would be the least of my concerns. For a track car, I'd rather put money towards suspension, safety, and reliability. (However I would definitely get an exhaust. Can't stand not being able to hear the car)

Changing the headers and removing both cats (I believe one of the cats is integral to the headers) will give a very nice addition to the sound...

I've seen (heard) some cars done right and it makes them sounds mean, as in slightly pissed off mean instead not "look at me" fart can noise.

4k - CSG Spec SRCs
2.1k - AP Racing Sprint BBK
3k - Some sort of forged wheels
700 - Tires
50 - brake fluid
150 - rear brake pads

Ooops...

The headers will sound nasty plus actually make usable power unlike most catback exhaust. More power can't hurt in a track frs.

Do you already have, or are you budgeting separately for your suit, shoes, underwear, head & neck device, and gloves? What helmet will you be using?

This is somewhat off-topic and you may already know it, but be aware that a single set of race tires doesn't last very long. Tires are a significant ongoing expense for everyone, and the serious racers bring 2-4 sets of sticker tires to a race weekend.

Another very good point, luckily I already have the full suit, glove, full helmet, hans device, 6 point harness, shoes, fire proof underwear, socks and balaclava.
Indeed starting from scratch this could easily have added $3,000 right there.

As for tires, they will be consumable so out of the build budget. But I have been driving a bunch of HPDE , 5 session of 25 minutes per day and my tire don't wear that bad, easily 8 days per set. Racing might be a different deal but I figured with the low power of the FRS, I should be on the more "economical" side of racing.

As for the S2k fanatics out there, you know who you are, I will not be swapping engine. These mods always open a can of worms I am trying to avoid by limiting the engine mods as much as possible. New headers and straight exhaust will be my only mod. mainly to gain weight.

At first I plan to keep the stock exhaust for a while to make sure I can actually hear what is going on inside the car, in case something goes wrong. Loud exhaust are fun but then that's the only thing you can hear. Making things harder to 'debug'.
