And here she is cuddling with her little bro. I've never raised kittens before so this strikes me as odd to see them so affectionate. They're often grooming each other, hanging out in groups outside, or sleeping near or next to each other. She's fixed but they got along really well before so .

Now that it has been a couple of days I think I am able to post this up here. I wasn't sure if I would post anything or not, but I think there are enough "dog people" on here to understand.

We went to San Diego for Thanksgiving and were staying with my Wife's Grandmother in the Claremont area. Saturday morning her grandma let the dogs out to go potty in the morning. After a moment she heard the dogs all barking and when she looked outside, Bowzer was gone. A few minutes later we saw a coyote headed back into the canyon that sits behind her home. I checked the fence for any possible holes or escape areas in case by chance he had just wiggled out, but after a 10 hour search, we decided to call it quits. I think we all knew the coyote had grabbed him, especially since she has seen the coyotes jump the fence before in the past, but we all wanted to have hope and a search effort was still a good idea to most of us. Once we decided he was gone, my wife and I packed up the car and went home.

I never realized how attached to the little guy we all were. He has been there to lift us all up so many times, and now we are forced to accept the harsh reality of his passing.

RIP Bowzer

I know my neighbor has little dogs so he decided to build a 10' foot fence around his yard to prevent that very same thing. But he's a little crazy though.

And sometimes I catch some wild animals sizing up my dog, but they soon realize my dog is far too heavy for them to carry her off.

Thanks guys. I guess that is life, but it doesn't really make it any easier. I am concerned with my Boston Terrier now though. He has gotten pretty depressed, though he is eating and will play still, just mourning on his own as well. I would imagine we will find him a new pal pretty soon though. I have read a number of articles that say we should use this time to strengthen the bond with the surviving dog though while we adjust and recover.

Sorry for your loss. It's always tough losing a four-legged family member regardless of the circumstances.

Good advice on the surviving dog. The Terrier is likely responding more to your emotional state than the loss of their playmate. Dogs (and most animals) move on pretty fast, but they do match your state of mind.

Ouch man, very sorry to hear about that. We've recently had coyotes doing the same thing here, in the city even. Sucks though
