Removing windshield cowl end filler?

Anyone know how to remove the trim pieces at each bottom corner of the windshield (formally referred to as the "cowl end filler")?

This piece:

I want to run a wire behind it and I'd rather avoid breaking it by removing it incorrectly.

I found a picture of the back if that helps:

Haven't tried myself but from looking at the picture it seems like you just pull. It's fairly identical to how the rest of the panels in the car are attached. You can either pull at it with the blue piece connected or if you have room you can slide the entire piece disconnecting it from the blue piece.

Yes just carefully pull it off. If it does break however they are only $13 at the dealer just posted the part number in a thread for a guy earlier today.

Super easy to do. Just had to do it a week ago. Like the photo shows, don't pull up, slide it out away from the windshield.

Found this thread looking to remove mine. The subaru parts sites call it "COWL PANEL-SIDE"

The picture of the back posed by inio was helpful - you can see how the blue clip can slide out. I found it was opposite of what gl2filmerguy says - you need to slide the part toward the rear of the car (toward the windshield) to get it to slide off of the blue clip. The opening for the blue part is at the front, so sliding the piece rearward will release the blue clip.

Once you have the cowl end off you can remove the clip and re-install into the cowl end, at least I found it was a lot easier to re-install by just pushing the clip in than trying to get everything positioned so you could slide it back on.

Brightened up inio's picture so you can better see the details.
