So I've seen a few videos now where people are comparing the JRSC with a NA build and say the JRSC doesn't "feel" that much better than NA, or that it only really kicks in at higher RPM. I feel this may be especially true with the C38.

Videos I'm referring to:

To the owners: any truth to this? Thoughts? I'm mostly asking because I was frankly underwhelmed after riding in two C38 JRSC cars. Once on the street and once in autocross. The videos above kind of reminded me of the way I felt after riding in the cars.

99.8% of the grins come above 5000 RPM.

I didn't watch all vids, but the first vids showed JRSc system and says it added 40 whp? that's not right, what I experienced was definitely more than that on CARB tune with complete stock header/exhaust. They did mention high elevation so maybe that's the reason for the smaller improvement they were seeing?

Now at this level the acceleration is near that of flat 6 cayman s, up from being beaten by minivans, i cannot imaging it's just a little step up from "tunes" over regular gas pumps.

There are a lot of usable power between 4500-7000 rpm. Downshift if you don't feel you have power. With this arrangement you are able to continue accelerate at high speed. This is designed for road racing. There are other systems that will provide more power low down.

There are still significant gain at lower rpm starting at 2000rpm. I am using a gear higher regularly for easy driving and for keeping noise down

Absolutely agree with this...
Uphills used to be a problem for me, now the mountains shake in utter fear of my massive torque figures *cue maniacal laugh*
I pulled on an X6 M just this weekend, in fact. I didn’t win but it felt like I did! This kit makes the car much more useable, I’d compare the driving to a 335i. Seemingly endless torque down low and a high end that gives you a headrush and soggy pants I would never think to call this “underwhelming”. I’d blame that on the driver.

The power band is super linear with JRSC compared to stock. Check the dyno charts in this thread. The power starts building up almost the same way with stock as RPM increases up to 2000 rpm. But it does not dip around 3000-4000 rpm. Power difference and acceleration after 5000 RPM is unbelievable compared to stock. It is almost ridiculous to try that power on the public roads. The first video is in Utah and at that elevation both engines are suffering. The other guys are just kids looking for instant torque of a muscle car. If you are expecting instant torque like them, you will feel the same. If you want to drive like this is a sports car, there is big difference. +100 hp is there if you know how to extract it.

If you're seriously interested shoot me a PM. I might be taking off my JRSC and selling the car - perhaps we could work something out.

Yeah, JRSC only comes off if I am done with the car. I can't imagine my car without JRSC anymore.

Thanks for the replies guys. Could you all specify if you have the C30 or the C38? Worrying if that the C38 may not have enough low-end in carb form. The low end is important to me because I will be using the car primarily for autocross, where downshifting isn't really an option

If you KNOW you're not gonna use the C38's potential, get the C30.

^^ only get a C38 if there's a legitimate possibility you'll build your block and go HBP in the future.
