You can buy these on ebay from dealer store fronts for cheap

Mix and match, try both, try just changing the front and just changing the rear, if you have the opportunity to verify what's the best setup for you instead of just following what the internet tells you to do then absolutely do it.

And hey, if you end up finding out that contrary to popular opinion you like TRD rear, OE front then you can make back a decent amount of money selling the front to someone who doesn't want to put the effort into testing it.

I was planning to run with the TRD springs a hotchkis front sway, 245 71R' and possibly this TRD rear sway. I'm going to have to do some research and see what these TRD sways are like. I don't like the fact theirs no adjustment...

I just picked up the TRD set. I'm going to do a bit of testing. I have the strano front/stock rear now. I'm going to (one at a time) test out different combinations to see if I get a better feel out of a new setup. I never go solely on what others might tell me what works. See for yourself. Plus everyone's driving style is a bit different. What works for one might not work for another.

This was almost exactly my setup, Hotchkis front and TRD rear, except I had BFGs. The rear bar is a game changer. You won't wanna take it off after you try it.

I'm going to do some hunting around to see if I can find just the rear, if not I'll end up with the set and have a nice powder coated fire poker.

You've also run with 225/45/17 in the past right?

Correct, in 2014 I ran 225s. If you don't think your driving is up to snuff, yeah stick with the 225s - the tire will work properly and you can concentrate on other stuff. I believe the 245s are only incrementally faster, and that's at the cost of increased wear and the tire sidewalls being a little compromised (which adds some unwelcome dynamics and makes the tire feel sloppy).

FYI CS winner at nats last year ran 225s, so you *can* get it done on those. They're also cheaper. If you are still learning, nothing beats seat time and that means your tire budget goes up.

If you run Prosolos the 245 advantage gets big due to the drag start. In Lincoln at spring nats and at the finale I consistently cut 2.1-2.2 60' times. The only ones faster than me were the MR2 (1.9 or lower! That mid engine is helpful) and the NC Miata with cushy springs and fancy DA shocks (they were more consistent about 2.1 than I was).

I just ordered 235/45 RE71-R's. Went with the taller tires to get a little better top end.

I always thought the magic size for street was 225 45. That all I've run the last 4 seasons. Has anyone had any real results from other sizes ?

I've run every possible relevant 17" size in the past few years. It depends on the tire and the lots you run (if you need gearing). The BfG 245s worked well on renfield90's car even though I didn't love their "feel." I regularly run 225 re71r now, but I'm probably going to try the rival s in 225 a bit this year.

renfield90, did you run the Hotchkis bar on the Hard or soft setting? did that feel a more loose like stock or more neutral to understeer prone off throttle?

I started on hard but went to soft not long after I got Konis and stayed there for nats. The soft setting is still pretty damn stiff. It was fairly neutral off throttle, pushy on throttle. But I could go WOT whenever I wanted without spinning, and it was a total monster through slaloms.
