Might be my imagination stretching things but I get a venasuar feel from the front lol.

Anyways, like the majority of you i don't like the busy front end. One can only hope it looks better in person (when the 1st gen was announced I though it's overall shape was kinda weird until I stood next to one in person). Otherwise it will probably be one of those designs you have to learn to like or tolerate.

But there are things I do like! The new gear ratio and power bump (hopefully a sign of different mapping) could be a sign of better torque delivery in the lower RPMs which is something I felt the car needed the times I have driven one. Also for those who go FI, the wider mouth would hopefully make it easier to supply air to intercoolers and oil coolers, reducing the amount of stacking necessary in current gen cars. Finally other details like the wheels and lights are an improvement, so not all bad.

Is it the best it could have been? Nope. Is it a catastrophe? We'll have to see how much the character has changed but considering it is only a refresh, I doubt it. Win some, you lose some.

1st Gen FRS looks timeless. Everything looks right IMO, not under or over styled like the 2nd gen.

guys, we forgot an important thing, do you remember when Moto Miwa posted about the changes for the upcoming 2017 MY ? please reffer to the link below:

http://club4ag.com/in-the-pursuit-an...ture-facelift/

quoting from the article:
5. some elements have been addressed in the manual transmissions to allow more durability and resulting precision at the shift lever feel as well.

does anyone have update on this issue ? has it been addressed in MY2015 or MY2016 ?
Thanks

What is more concerning that the car would have gone through a clinic where your typical Twin buyers share views before the car is signed off. Obviously the clinic focus group got the invites mixed up with the Prius group!

Honestly I think it actually looks pretty good. I like what they did with the extra styling in the rear diffuser and the overall impression of the front end feels more aggressive almost kinda manta ray like.

Love both the new head and brake lights. They look more matured and sophisticated to me. Love the new wheels and am interested in hearing the specs on those, but then I also honestly don't mind the original ones. Just saying they could of been much worse.

What I dislike is the interior's grey stitching and what the hell did they do to the steering wheel? I recall all the comments back then saying we wanted to keep the wheel simpler, free of buttons to remove distraction and also make it lighter as befits such a focused drivers car...

I'm really looking forward to seeing how far Subaru will push the envelop with their own iteration. How funny would it be if they decide to release theirs in Toyota's Lava orange color in response to Toyota using WRB?

@Tcoat and I were talking about the color too and also thought it was weird, we think that it's the same or similar dark blue to the 2016 86 thought with just some lighting. I don't mind the grey stitching too much, almost every car and their grandma have red stitching now, it's a nice nod to sports cars but it's redundant if even your family econ car has it (IE None Ford Fiesta). Though Grey stitching just reminds me more of a Camry. Reserving my judgement till I see it in person, but from things so far. If Subaru gets it correct using more elements from it's STI concept. We might have a better majority vote Better looking Twin. ofcourse Im sure Subaru will charge you more.

If i parked my brz all day in the hot australian sun , the front end would melt and become a 2017 86.
The steering wheel is for steering , not for fiddling with audio controls!

The car doesn't look bad (although I think I may prefer the 1st gen bumper).

But overall very minor changes.

Wow, guess I'll be looking for a 2nd 1st generation FRS. Not digging that refresh at all. Front grille reminds me of the small skinny grille by Kia. Yuck!
