Awesome looking concept. I hope Subie can keep the production close to this.

If this thing goes prod looking anything close to that I'm going to have to heavily consider that vs the twins

It looks decent but im not a fan of the govt mandated flat front on all new cars. Supposed to make hitting a pedestrian less damaging. I say give me aerodynamics and look both ways before you cross tha damn street. Also the car is sitting on 20's, to me it looks like this car may be bigger than the currrent model.

I was hoping they would use a whole new body that was closer in size to the BRZ, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Instead it is even bigger than the outgoing WRX which was already way too big.

2015 Subaru WRX Concept
Lenght: 4.520 mm
Width: 1.890 mm
Height: 1.390 mm
Wheelbase: 2.760 mm

2013 Subaru WRX STI 4-Door
Lenght: 4.580 mm
Width: 1.795 mm
Height: 1.470 mm
Wheelbase: 2.625 mm

It is wider, lower and shorter. It grew in the right directions to me.

the wrx is as much about utility as it is about sportiness, i would hate for it to be the size of the BRZ. especially if i wanna fit kids in the back.

also your height of the concept is wrong, it is actually 54.7" as described in the press release. compared to the 2013 wrx (180.3" x 70.7" x 58.1", wheelbase 1
03.3"") the concept is actually smaller and wider with a longer wheelbase (178.0in x 74.4in x 54.7in ) Wheelbase: (108.7 in.)

Edit: @Levi beat me to it

Last edited by kbye; 03-28-2013 at 02:36 PM. Reason: corrected wheelbase

I would expect more ground clearance when it goes production.

If the production model looks similar to this, and has the performance to match...

then I might not be holding onto my BRZ for a very long time!

Just think of STI wheels, spoiler, and emblems. Then you've got an STI.

Why give it more ground clearance when owners anyway lower them later?

BTW, you can clearly see the WRX concept has just evolved the design cues of the current Subaru range. There was no GT-R/Ford/Dodge or whatever copying/inspiration.

Does anyone have the color value that they're using for the accents on the concept? It seems to be the same color they use for their WRC cars:

On the Puma site it's #fff100, but that seems too yellow.
