Even on the Pocono Mega Configuration we run (3.something miles), exiting the infield at the top left red (see below) and running clockwise all the way to the 1st top right blue, 120 is still about it. You're just revving the bejesus out of the motor and not really getting any faster.
Jeez even at Pocono? I haven't ever been there but I would expect a bit faster. I want to get one more baseline on all OEM bits at the Englishtown road course and then I'm splurging for a light set of wheels with 245 wide RE71R tires and a tune. I'm willing to bet after that I can bring up my top speed to ~125 before the bus stop @ WGI. If the twins had a power curve like the S2000, they would be FAST.

135mph per GPS with JRSC at Pocono Raceway South East option 3. Could have squeezed a few more mph but it feels like even stock aero fights acceleration considerably above 130mph.

Well, you could ask them.

You could say that you have this "special wing" that you think will allow your machine to fly ..... and you want to test it out.

If the airstrip doesn't have a control tower, be sure to monitor the appropriate radio frequency and keep an eye out for landing aircraft.

That strip in my picture has two road exits at one end and one road exit at the other. The donut shop is about 2 miles away.

However, I didn't feel "lucky" that day ...... so, I stood down .....

it's a very small local airport with only regional flights in tiny planes. I don't even think they have flights running 24h/day lol

For our cars stock, the factory 160mph speedo is WILDLY optimistic. We're power/aero limited even though the gearing may be there.

It actually goes to show that if you're sticking with stock(-ish) power, a diff upgrade may be the way to go since you won't cut down the practical top speed even though theoretical top speed drops.

This is probably exacerbated on any car not running the factory exhaust. That open area behind the diff probably creates a lot of turbulence and the bumper cover makes a mini-scoop. @VeloxEric could answer this better though.

I gotta stop reading this thread, it's got me wondering if finding out my top speed at the local airport is worth the repercussions and probable police chase

We've heard and seen significant gains in aerodynamic efficiency through our diffusers. With the stock exhaust, we notice about 5% increase in economy at 75 MPH (36MPG no diffuser - 38MPG diffuser). Without the stock exhaust, we saw an increase of approximately 12% (34MPG no diffuser to 38MPH diffuser).

The cars are fairly aerodynamic to start with though. Best bang for the buck would be a diffuser than a small splitter that doesn't create a ton of downforce. Check out the rear diff/transmission tunnel covers, those both aid in reducing turbulence underbody, as well as the JDM underbody covers.

Hope this helps some .

Between 121-122 mph at various tracks. Car is stable even at those speeds, but does not feel like it has much left.

I can't imagine how much room it took magazines to hit the ~140 mph tested top speed.

Runways bro and a good entry, mechanically speaking the transmission and gear ratio are limited to 165-175

This actually brings up an interesting thought. The car will go fast, but not get there fast, no power, duh, so it seems that top speed would be an easy sacrifice to get some more acceleration to a lower top speed. It's got me thinking of going with a taller rear gear.

Allow me to drag up this formula from a past post.

Who would like to do the math .. ??

(please include the parameters involved, especially frontal area).
