#17) 1963 Cadillac Coupe DeVille (JUL04-JUN05)
Found this gem parked in a driveway on a quiet street in my neighborhood, a faded For Sale sign on the dash. Less than an hour later I bought this solid driver for $1500. Over the next months I lowered her, bolted on some cheap chrome wheels and that was about it. She had her flaws, but everyone turned their heads when she rolled by. Sold her when the electrical system started to dissolve. Not fun when you shut the driver's door too hard and the passenger windows power down. In the rain. And you don't notice.

#18) 1991 Toyota Previa (OCT04-DEC04)
A group of us were road-tripping 2004 SEMA, so instead of renting a van I just bought this Previa locally, threw some extra 350Z wheels on it and drove it to Vegas and back. Sold it as soon as I returned and made a few hundred bucks.

#19) 1995 Lexus LS400 (OCT04-JAN06)
I was making a little money and wanted to start driving something with a little style. Spotted this LS400 on a car lot and walked in without the intention of buying it. I made a ridiculous offer, which they refused. As I was driving out of the parking lot to leave, the salesman ran out, stopped me and accepted the offer. I drove my first Lexus home.

I kept it simple with some 18's and Tein coilovers. It was a great road trip car and I miss it. Sold it to a guy that had a complimentary white LS400 that would become his wife's daily driver.

Darren,

this has been a fun thread to watch unfold, your prospective on the different cars has been entertaining! better to go through the cars than women.

How are the home renovations progressing?

I can draw cars, I can't draw people to save my life! Haha.

My goal for the house was the end of the year, but looks like I might go a couple months over. Oh well, by Spring is a good enough goal to hit.

#20) 2002 Lexus SC430 (SEP05-JUL09)
Being a long fan of Toyota vehicles, I had long lusted for the luxury and cleverness of Lexus's hardtop convertible. I found the perfect one on eBay, bid and won... only to find out that the owner had sold it privately and forgotten to end the auction. He worked for a dealership as their purchaser, so he agreed to locate an identical car and sell it to me at the same price. I ended up with a cleaner, lower-mileage car than the original one. I flew to L.A., he picked me up at the airport and I drive straight home.

A set of 19" Axis Matrix wheels, Tein springs and Apex'i intake and exhaust dressed her up. I loved this car because there were very few hardtop convertibles on the market when I bought it, but by 2009 there were plenty and it just wasn't special anymore. To make things worse, I hated the lazy automatic transmission which robbed the driving experience of any possible fun. So sorry, Lexus, you gotta go.

I got nothing to add other than to say this is a pretty cool thread. It makes me look back over the list of cars I've owned and the stories that could be told. I like the graphics and wish I had the skills to do that stuff on the computer.

Keep it going.

#21) 1994 Toyota T100 (OCT05-AUG06)
I had just bought my first house and was about to begin a major renovation. I needed a solid rig to pick up building materials. This T100 was pretty cheap and in great shape.

#22) 1986 Toyota Cressida Wagon (MAR06-SEP06)
Months had passed since I sold my 240SX and I didn't want to thrash my SC430, so it was time for a cheap, fun drift project. I bought this clean wagon up in Seattle and sourced a donor 1987 Supra Turbo locally in Portland. My friend, the owner of a local performance shop, owed me a favor, so both cars were sent to the shop to have the Turbo engine and manual transmission swapped into the Cressida. Unfortunately, the shop was was so busy that summer passed without any progress. I ended up selling off the two cars and never got to have fun with them.

#23) 2001 Toyota Tundra Xtra Cab (AUG06-MAY08)
I regretted buying a T100 single cab because I couldn't stick more than three people in the cab. I had a wakeboard boat now and I wanted to tow the boat to the river with everyone at once. Upgrading from the T100 to the Tundra was a no-brainer, but I bought a 2WD model and later on that would prove frustrating.

you should compile these into a binder as a neat coffee table piece. or print them out onto small woodblock or canvas prints and mosaic them on a wall.

I think I am going to frame each one individually out on the shop wall somewhere. I like those other ideas, too, though!
