The only thing you would need then are the oil cooler, the bolt, 1.5m a 2m hose and 4 clamps. That was at around 250€ at the time for me. Works also great for AT 86. My post about it

I'm also wondering if other oil coolers are compatible. The FXT's 21311AA170 seems to be hard to get at a decent price.
Are the 21311AA180's and 120's going to work? Has anybody used a sandwich plate other than 21311AA170? |

Yeah I was gonna put it between cooler and filter as you did. I don't think adapter between oem housing and cooler is possible as the oil cooler connector has male threads. What kind of adapter did you put? Do you have a picture?? |

I just installed this oil cooler. While I guess you can use the BRZ's heater hose with the Forester's pipe, I wasn't happy with the kink in the hose so I went to the parts store and got a heater hose with a 90 degree bend. Carquest/Dayco Part #: 19590336. I cut off one of the bends and had a 90 degree with a straight hose which worked.
I also decided to use the Forester's coolant pipe that bolts to the driver's valve cover. It was a PAIN to bolt on. I had to pop out the cam actuator harness ties which was tricky(they were anchored where the bolts thread in), then getting the upper bolt in was a nightmare. Also, the pipe was pointing straight up into the injector cover. I used a 1/4" drive extension and bent it out. I can see why Carnz's guide just had you use a long hose. I just didn't want to sling a heater hose down the side of my engine, so I went to painful route. |

Anyone else running this setup but through the throttle body? Currently have mine setup that way, will monitor temps at track this upcoming summer and see how much it brings the oil temps down.

I prefer the throttle body route due to the ease of installation and the results are pretty good. |

I'm running it on mine. Plenty of Autox and track events, so far oil temps have been good. I also have a CSF radiator so that is helping too.

so if you're going to track a turbo car a sandwich plate and oil cooler is necessary but not if it's N/A? What about supercharged cars? I mean they do run cooler than turbos right?

Was hoping to monitor and report oil temps after today's track day but unfortunately it was raining/cold out so I couldn't get a good idea on how much it brought temps down by compared to having no oil cooler. Hopefully the next track day stays dry and warm |

Went to the Ridge Motorsports Park yesterday in Shelton, WA. Oil temps were at 100 degrees celcius (Total 0W-30) during and after each session. But then again, it wasn't every warm. We'll see what the temps are at in a July track day.
