I doubt it.

It may be hanging upside down in @czechm8 's back yard ...... being bled out .....

Close call with one today. Probably have tail marks brushed down the side of my car. The sonofabitch made it across six lanes of 70mph traffic and a concrete barrier though!

Bad time of year, what with the shorter days and peak of the deer rut.

Yep, up here, we got some critters that wander out in the roads from time to time.

In a twin, I figure if you hit em fast enough, being a low car, you just clip them at the knees and the main body just rolls on over the car ......

When I was driving up to AK in early May 1989 a BMW 320i passed us at nearly double the speed we were traveling. We were probably only doing mid 50's, maybe 60 because lots of Caribou were moving around and in a 71 2002 I felt like I was going to lose if something went wrong. About 45 minutes after he blew our doors off I came over a hill and ahead was a whole mess of flashing lights. Yup he took one out at almost 200kph according to the Mounties on scene. The car went under it barely touching its legs but the bottom of its belly was right at hood height. There was absolutely nothing left of the car above the hood! The driver and passengers bodies were still sitting in the seats from about the belly buttons down It was a sobering experience to say the least.

Got an estimate the other day. $600+ for a new hood and $700 for paint and labor. Going in Monday. Should have her back by Turkey day!
Seeing a deer do a Dukes of Hazard hood slide across my FR-S. Priceless!

Yup, I'd sooner go into oncoming traffic than hit a moose.

Well, really, the ditch is where I'd ideally go.

This was a caribou but, yeah, not much difference between ~1000 pounds and 1500.

The only issue with the ditch can be is it a ditch or a big dropoff with trees and rocks? If just a mostly smooth slide off the road great but frequently it's more significant and the best case scenario is hospital time with the worst case necessitating a phone call or LEO visit to your next of kin. 36 years ago when I started driving and saw my first deer incident I came to the conclusion that I will do anything I can to keep the car on the pavement because at least you have some modicum of control whereas once the car leaves the pavement your fate is no longer in your hands. I'd rather come away with a wrecked car than a wrecked life.

With anything but a semi, if you hit a moose, you're likely dead.

We have signs all over the place.

Even with the larger animals it is statistically proven you are better off to slow down as much as possible and hit them than to try to avoid them at speed.

Depends on how you hit it.

Like I said do everything you can to keep it on the pavement without endangering your life. The only really big critter I've hit was an elk, at least a 6 pointer. He freaked and tried to run but slipped on the ice and went down in the road so my FJ55 pretty much just went over it. I ended up with a piece of broken antler in the radiator that sealed its own hole so I never bothered replacing the radiator and other than that it was just strips of rotting meat stuck to things underneath. It was late at night, nearest town was 35 miles away, it was 15 degrees and snowing so there was no way I was doing anything other than taking it out because going off the road was a death sentence.

Not even remotely accurate.
Quebec even breaks it down for us.
Total of 1353 moose incidents with a grand total of all fatalities (including deer) of only 15.
The total number of large animals is 9961 with 772 injuries so you have about an 8% even getting injured.
You can check across Canada if you want.

I'm glad the deer aren't spontaneously combusting more often in those moose incidents.
