Suspension Noise Fixed
Newest picture with the Swift Spec R lowering springs on stock (2017) shocks. I am pretty happy with the amount of drop so far, and I'll get more pictures on level ground after they settle a bit. PS. Like 1.5-2mm clearance between wheel/tire and shock! Very tight in there!! - Spring Rate: 4.4K (F) / 5.3K (R) - Height Drop: 1.1 inches (F) / 1 inches (R) Back story: Had Tein Flex Z's on my car and a little after installing them they started making strange noises on the front. I had multiple people of different levels of mechanical ability look at them, and tried everything the forums here said to do....Finally realized the coilover was faulty. I will try to warranty it with Tein but....we'll have to see what they have to say. Since I'll probably have to send them back, I decided to buy some Swift Spec R springs to put with my stock shocks (can't have that 4x4 stock stance lol). Have only driven home on them but can say they are nice and comfy and most importantly very quiet compared to my jacked up Teins, lol. Springs mounted and ready to go in. In they go. Outside of the shop. |

Updated Pictures
I believe the springs have settled as much as they are going to. Here is the current view. Side view. And a fisheye for the fun of it. |

Updates
Summer 2019:
Tomei UEL Header (Ceramic Coated) Tomei Overpipe (Ceramic Coated) OFT V.2 Have yet to try the E85 tune but I am happy with the header, overpipe, and tune for now. Torque dip is pretty much gone and it pulls up hills a lot better than it did before. For me it's a good stop gap, but I know I will want more power in the future. I think 260-280hp will just about do it. More on that later though... |

Cusco Catch Can
A bit of "bling" for the engine bay:
Also got the Cusco engine mounts installed and a Torque Solution Transmission Mount Insert. Quick review of the Cusco engine mounts: Not for the faint at heart lol. I'd go STI if i could do it again. I hope the "break in" a bit.... Lots of engine vibration is translated through the mounts especially on idle. In the power band they aren't too bad. |
