Point being, you can't have a REAL 10 year waiting list. The car won't be in production (in its current form) in 10 years.
You've got a point there. 10 Years will produce a new body/chassis.

I also wonder how they would cut 220 lbs. That's ALOT to cut on this car, I think 100 lbs or so is more probable by the time you do all the crash testing fun. But I like it if they can easily drop the weight without driving up the price.

There is NO engineering prototype for 2014. The FR-S will stay the same for at least 5 years, maybe more. Tada-san was talking about options and upgrades to the standard FR-S. He was saying that the car was capable of losing 220lbs without much modification. It's all lies. Why would they replace the satnav with TRD gauges on the standard FR-S? The author is an absolutely clueless moron who doesn't know what he's talking about.

Fixed that for you! :happy0180:

I'm hoping that this is just aftermarket parts development. Changing the car in only a year makes me cautious about buying a FR-S or BRZ as a daily driver only to have it be out of date after one model year. Normally it's three years for a refresh and five for a completely new car. However, there are some instances where a manufacturer (Ford) did an exterior and interior refresh in 2010 and the new powertrains in 2011 for the Mustang. I guess anything is possible.

Keep the politics off the forums. That includes quick political remarks or jokes. I shouldn't have to tell you that plitics are off limits, you shouldn't have made that comment and you KNOW the community wouldn't unanimously agree with that remark. Use better judgment please.

i was interested in that wing i think it looks pretty awesome but at the same time i like the car how it is mayb if i get the GT86/BRZ wing it would be good enough for me i like having a tiny bit of downforce also for the throughway at 70mph keeps yo a little more stable when 18wheelers have their rear wind drag hitting you in the tin can that the 86 is :-D i may or may not get one but i feel id have to to do the rear bumper aero kit front bumper and skirts to make it all come together its up in the air for me personally. as for power i think the car is great and the aftermarket world is doing a fantastic job, no need for a turbo model when you can spend 3800 on AVO tg 1 lol

Do us a favor next time; call out BOTH of them, not just the guy name-dropping Obama.

Politics is off limits. We're here about cars. If you want to talk politics...at least let it be car related legislation.

My mistake, I didn't even notice the original post. Fixed it anyway though.

i think u misunderstood. its the price of a frs plus $26,000 for all the TRD goodies and the aftermarket shocks. 18inch BBS rims would be at least $1,000 each retail and as usual TRD stuff isnt cheap

There's no tragedy that deems a necessary rush to attract more appeal to the car by adding all the bells and whistles to the car. Leave that for the Civic with Honda's emergency refresh to replace their 2012 civic failure.

The car has enough demand and long enough of a waitlist that they don't really need to do much to the car to attract more attention to it. If they suddently made the 2014 10x better, they will have a huge disgruntled first year buyer base and would cause PR to go apeshit.

The FRS will most likely go the way of the S2000, retain the essense of the car and improve it with drivability and aero features. Not kick dirt in the faces of early adopters.

But yes, the PistonHeads article does mention the stuff correctly.
