Looking for local advice on tires. My 2013 BRZ will need a new set in the next month or two. I don't track but enjoy some mountain driving and taking on some Curves in my short commute.

I prefer another set of summer tires but Atlanta area does have cold spells and snow events happen. For cold, I don't mind taking it easier in the turns until it warms up above 45. Snow obviously means no go.

I used to borrow my wife's Forester on snow days but that car is gone. Winter tires don't make much sense in this area.

Michelin PSS are atop the summer list and their AS/3+ for all season. I read on the tire thread the impressions of someone who went with as/3+ and lamented the loss of slot car feel he enjoyed with the summer tires.

Thoughts?

I run summer tires but that's just me. never had a problem in the cold and if it's snowing I'll be at home that day anyways.

I usually just get what they have on sale if it's a good tire.

Bumping this up. Just requested to join the FB group. New FR-S owner (2015 Raven Pearl) and new Georgia resident trying to find some more car peeps. Was very active in my Evo X group back in DFW, TX area.

Nothing major done to the car yet but a drop in filter, FT86 2.5" Muffler delete, and Diode Dynamics full HID/LED light conversion. Coilovers/Wheels/Tires coming soon

Just moved back here from Texas and promptly killed the engine at Road Atlanta. What shops would you guys recommend for a long block swap? All Pro Subaru? Alternatively, I can probably do a swap myself or maybe someone local can swing by and help?

I've never used these guys but everyone I know that has speaks very highly of them. as a result I would guess they're not cheap.

I've heard a lot of good things about Atlanta Speed Company. I think the guy to talk to is named Kevin Ket.

Sorry to hear about the engine failure.

User error. One of the oil coolant lines started rubbing on the frame and sprung a leak. My wife thinks driving on horrendous LA or MS roads must have caused the oil lines to shift. Never had a problem in TX. I called TopSpeed Motorsports and they recommended Controlled Motorsports next door; talking to Controlled at the moment.

Anybody ever tuned their twin at TopSpeed Motorsports in Alpharetta? I see they used to post here back in 2013-2014 but now their webpage is showing mostly Porsches and GTRs.

Atlanta Speed Company - They know the 86 platform very well.

DBW Motorsports - For 86 tuning purposes. Doug used to be Head of Engineering at TopSpeed.

Actually I started TopSpeed in 2003 was the owner, founder, head of everything till I sold the company to its current owner in 2012.
