Door Panel replacement for track cars

So whats the solution for replacing the factory door panels on a track car when you have it caged? I would like to accommodate the switch cluster and some sort of pull handle. Any suggestions?

I’ve seen bare doors on most cars.

Street Faction and LRB make some panels.

TRD has some awesome carbon ones. But be prepared to have a very light wallet if you get those lol

I just didn't bother with a panel. The plastic will come out and the rubber crap will be cleaned up after the cage gets welded in since I'll be doing some painting anyways.

I just bolted them back to existing spots. The window switches I'll secure with a second self taping screw later after the cage is in so I can make sure it clears - or I'll just remove the window switches and plug them in only when I need the windows to move (start and end of the track event) which is what I do with my ITR currently. Broke the locking clip off so it takes a few seconds to plug in, move the windows and remove the switches again.

This guy had a good idea and I suppose lengthened the harness to put the window/mirror switches on the dash.

I have been looking for a door panel solution too. Would love something like the TRD panels, but they are way to expensive for a track rat.

This guy did something similar to the LRB panels. You could probably duplicate this out of other materials too.

I wish someone would make something like this for our cars. http://www.hardmotorsport.com/hard-m...bmw-e46-coupe/

That's pretty slick - I might consider moving them to my switch panel (where the radio was) if I have some time to do that someday. For now I think I'll do the install/uninstall when loading/unloading from the trailer. The car is normally traveling in an enclosed trailer so I might not even run them up all that often.

I wouldn't mind using sheet aluminum to make a panel and attach with some bolts (can easily install some rivnuts in the door sheet metal) but again.. time/money vs value is pretty limited on that mod. Looks pretty though!
