Hey guys, I'll be going to Trackwerks this friday with two S2000 and one SI. We'll most likely leave from the east end. Let me know if some are interested in joining.

^^ This. No sense changing a perfectly good coil for another. Get 2 and keep 1 spare, change as needed.

Going in Saturday for diagnostic, See if the dealership will take care of it, or if ill end up ordering coil packs myself, worth a shot nothing to really lose but an hour out of my day.

Thought crossed my head, a few people told me Royal Purple is bad for Boxer motors, i wonder if that is what caused my issues, other people have had none, or if its just the aggressive driving i put on the car, See what the Dealership has to say Saturday. hoping for the best, but do not want to be without the car for to long.

My car started hunting at idle on the way home from work yesterday, and the check engine and slip lights came on this morning. I also have one partially bald tire and another with a puncture (again). I'm thinking the poor car is not standing up to my harsh treatment.

I get the traction light, along with the check engine light, under load the traction light comes on, I hope you have nothing serious going on!

Assuming Royal Purple meets all the required specs, then shouldn't be anything that makes it "bad" for boxers. I'm new to the car scene but there are as many anecdotal pseudo-science arguements about oil as there are in high-end audio.

Is it possible that your tune is running lean? That would increase the engine temps. Do you have any logs from driving around?

Haven't data logged in a while, i have cleared the code a couple times, but it comes back fairly quickly, I plan on data logging once i have a passenger available to help, The way i was instructed to do it by my tuner was to do a 3rd gear pull from 1500rpm WOT to limit, i assume there are other ways to log, but i am not sure what things to turn off on the logging to make it easier to read,

Appreciate the input, I should have answers saturday, depending on how things go. I enjoyed my buying experience with Bel-air, so hopefully service is better this time around ( 1st time was not the greatest, but mistakes happen, can't make a decision based on one event )

If you have access to an OBDII dongle and Torque on your phone you can log AFR and the fuel trims pretty easily. That should tell you if you are running lean.

The one code was P000C, which I've read has happened to other Subaru cars. It's cleared for now and hasn't come back since last night, but we'll see.

I did spill a tiny amount of oil on some of the cam sensor wiring last time I did an oil change. I should clean them up and see if that's all it is.

This is definitely making me reminisce about all the times I've spent under the hood of a car back in my beater days (everything pre-FRS).
