new jdm legacy B4 uses FA20 turbo

i just realized this. am i the only one out of the loop? the jdm legacy B4 uses a turbo FA20 that was completely built in house by subaru with DI. the engine block has been beefed up for boost, has a 10.6 compression ratio and makes 300ps and 295 lb/ft of torque.

sounds like it would be a very simple engine swap, or you could swap the internals for an affordable turbo engine build. sorry if this is old news.

No offense, but ya its kinda old news.

If the FA20T in the JDM legacy was used in a BRZ the turbo would be scraping on the ground. Turbo location is all wrong for the BRZ.

This does give hope for a turbo BRZ/STI and possible use of the FA20T in the WRX/STI. Only time will tell.

I'm actually hoping the BRZ/STI is a NA 2.5L FA engine (FA25).

The engine wouldn't be a direct swap with all of the turbo plumbing in the same locations, but hopefully the internals will be useful.
