Nice and good call getting 2 bottles of fluid. One is just enough but if you run out while bleeding then it's obviously going to be an issue.

They're only 500ml bottles - so I needed both, but I've got half a bottle left.

Pricey (almost R1K/Lt), but I believe as good as one can get... http://www.endless-brake.info/index....ts/brake-fluid

Yep, I also got the Endless fluid form Powerbrake. One bottle was enough with maybe 40ml to spare, if that much. I think it must have been a bigger bottle though.

It's very good.

Several reasons to be feeling "86" good today.

Firstly, I fitted my new tyres which I bought a few months ago. The fact that they've been lying in my garage for months already is wonderful - it means that I got much better mileage out of the old ones than I expected, despite several track sessions!! And on top of that, when I looked at the old ones today, I realised that they've still got enough tread to do lots more hooning, so I decided to not throw them away. I'll see if I can find a cheap set of spare wheels to put them on, and make lots of smoke someday when I'm feeling like being an irresponsible kid. I've gone for the same again (Federal 595RS-R semis) but one size narrower, ie 225/45-17 vs 235/40-17 which I had on before.

Secondly, I fitted OEM front camber bolts today which I bought from my local dealer. They were very quick and easy to fit. I've now got 1.1° neg camber up front, and 1.3° neg camber at the back. Probably not enough camber to be ideal for track work, but certainly better than stock. If you want to do this, you'll need 2x SU003-2818 (under R100) and this vid will explain how to fit them

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkq9dHiqWBY"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkq9dHiqWBY[/ame]

And further good news was that after fitting the camber bolts I did a wheel alignment check fully expecting to have to do a full alignment - and it was still spot-on!! Amazing!!

And finally, I'm getting really excited about this weekend. A mate and I are going to spend some time at Zwartkops on Saturday enjoying the Historical Series racing. The "golden oldies" racing cars really appeal to me because they're from my era - and don't kid yourself, they're surprisingly fast. Many of them can run sub-1:20 at Midvaal and sub-1:15 at Zwartkops which is hawt!! And I'm hoping that Sarel (Supervan) and his obscene red Ford Galaxie will be there because I want to see if I can get him to autograph my copy of his biography which I got as a gift from my kids last year (Huh? I really must be in my second childhood). Then on Saturday afternoon we'll do some geocaching (http://www.geocaching.com/guide/) in the Centurion area, and head through to Meyerton where we'll stay over. On Sunday - a serious track session at Midvaal. It's an open practice day but expect to be mixing it with racecars. Midvaal normally has light traffic, but few (if any) road-legal cars on track. If you want to join us, please do so. http://www.midvaalraceway.com/TrackDays.aspx If you want to overnight in Meyerton, we've got a spare bed already paid for which you're welcome to have for free.

Can it get better?

Also going to Z on Saturday, love historics! Hopefully see you there. Also, forget sub 1:15 some cars there get just over 1:00. Lotus record is a 1:02!!!

Oh yes, I'd love to own a Lotus - drool. By saying that many oldies can run sub-1:15 at Z, I was referring to the mainstream smaller saloons - Datsuns, Escorts, etc. But all the oldies are amazing - love 'em.

I haven't been a spectator at a Zwartkops event for many years - any advice regarding where to park, and where to spectate from?
Only been there for track days recently.

Yup, don't get me wrong they're all quick! There are beetles that do 1:15s

Bit depressing when you're doing a track day and they come flying past.

My suggestion is walk down the side of the pits to turn 2 there's some stands down a little path there. Very few people go there but it's brilliant, you're right on the hairpin so tons of action and real close up.
Or go to turn 6 at the top of the hill. Pretty wide view and lots of action round the two right handers.

Turn 6 is my favourite spot - oversteer!!! Especially this one chap with a Lotus Cortina who loves to showboat around there

Turn 2 is for crashes...

The Historical Series racing at Zwartkops was superb!!
Thanks for the suggestions - they helped a lot.

Yesterday at Midvaal was great.
Light traffic - about 20 cars and 10 bikes, and again I was the only street-legal car there.
I'm getting quite used to mixing it with the racecars - cool.

I had the pleasure of sharing the track with a Lola T70 (drool).
The sound of that big racing V8 from the 1960's is to die for
New personal best of 1:24.8, but I'd hoped to do better.
I'm sure that I can get into the 1:22's and maybe as low as 1:20 as my skills improve.
I'm not 100% happy with my new tyres.
They didn't hook up nearly as well as the old ones, but perhaps I just need to get used to them...
