Which carbon fiber trim best matches 2015+ dash?
Just as the title says. I'm looking for trim pieces for shift boot, steering wheel, and door handles that match as close as possible to the dash. I'd love if I could find some that are textured like the dash too, but obviously it's a different material. I know there's a few brands out there that make carbon trim, but I'm curious if anyone has seen in person which brand/type matches the best. Thanks.

I think you will be better off wrapping the pieces in cf vinyl yourself. it's cheaper and you can get all pieces to match exactly.

The stock "carbon fiber" vinyl is total junk. You can get some much more realistic vinyl. Look up 5d carbon fiber. It actually shimmers and has that 3d effect of real CF.

Here's my dash pieces wrapped in CF vinyl. I just paid $10 for a 2ft x 5ft roll. Plenty to do all interior pieces. When light hits it, it gives off the same appearance as real CF.

http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/inte...iber-trim.html
Bit expensive for complete replacements, I have wheel trim overlay, and shift boot overlay, saved a 100$ doing that at least, I bought the dash trim overlay as well but sadly the left piece that goes over the radio did not fit at all because of the new 2016 BRZs that come w/ Starlink radio. I contacted FT86SpeedFactory and they said they don't have one that fits the 2016 so I just returned the item, you should be fine though. I really wish It fit though, having stock fake CF trim on my dash while I got real CF trim on other places makes it look weird to me lol.

I would rather recommend wrapping the pieces in suede instead. it looks more premium than an interior full of shiny carbon fiber (which looks pretty tacky IMO)

Problem is, that suede/Alcantara can look tacky too. It's got that '70s van look that turns some people off (even if it's used in high end cars). I wrapped my interior bits in black brushed aluminum. Looks premium and wears well.

Theres someone on these forums that has been trying to sell their alcantara wrapped trim pieces for a long time now lol. In my opinion, the designers spent a decent amount of time figuring out what works best. For me, I didn't like the silver trim, but I didn't want to stray too far away from what the original overall design was. So I wrapped anything that was silver in matte white (matches my car anyway). The matte looks better than gloss in my opinion, and fits in pretty well with the interior. If you hate the radio/passenger dash trim, then I'd wrap that in something thats dark and matte. If you go aftermarket CF wrap, then get a matte one. tldr; my opinion: stick to matte pieces only. replace/wrap stock trim thats dark with something else thats dark, and anything light with something else thats light. It keeps the overall theme together. |

And just to weigh in on the cf wrap, it looks surprisingly nice for being vinyl IMO, just saying. Haters are gonna hate though
Beats the silver paint that comes in the BRZ |
