I had an e36 that responded beautifully to an underbody brace.

It doesn't take more than a couple of hours. The rear braces are the most time consuming.

A trick that helped me with the rear installation was to use one of the new bolts and bang the old one out. This keeps everything lined up. Then, I put another new bolt with the red peice that your bolting down, and banged the bolt back through the hole. This we pay it never seperatded so I didnt have the same trouble lining everything up that some have reported.

Once everything lined up, I tightened everything down, then torqued it all according to instructions. Didn't bother with the rear brace, it'll make a good weapon to stash in my car as a car part....
