Smart Key options?

I think the smart key looks too plain for a BRZ. I want something snazzier and preferably chrome!

I've been googling for different cases but no cigar.

Anyone actually legitimately done anything to their smart key yet?

I think I saw someone had wrapped theirs with CF vinyl. Another person used the 3M Make-your-own vinyl kit.

I've always thought that if your car was something other than black that painting the fob casing body color would be cool. Just prep it well and do multiple clear coats.

Another board member made clever use of electric blue and silver Sharpies, and is thinking of clear coating over the emblem. Personally, I think I'd try hand-painting it and then spray the case in gloss black with a clear coat to jazz it up some.

I'm working on integrating the guts into an iPhone case. One less thing I have to grab when I leave the house.

So you want to make a key that is designed to stay in your pocket more "snazzy" or chrome.

Yes, it is in my pocket most of the time but it is a nice touch to something that is otherwise quite plain.

My key never works if it's in the same pocket as my phone. Personally I've been thinking about swapping the guts into this hot wheels STI I have... just can't decide if I really want to carry that around.

I had some free time so I just sanded and primed my fob. Next step is to paint it with the WRB touch up paint the dealer gave me and sharpie the subaru emblem. I'll post up some pics once it's done, as long as it isn't terrible.

Haven't had that problem myself. We'll see how it works when it's attached to the phone itself. I might have to play around with the position/orientation if it gives me trouble.

Right now I'm just waiting on my 3D printer to get here so in can prototype it.

Some sandpaper, primer, clear coat, a silver sharpie, and some WRB touch up paint... oh and a little too much free time over the past two days.
