Yeah I hear ya. But for someone doing track racing and taching the car out in every gear, that's a pretty big boost in power up top. Of course, we're not finished. Like I mentioned earlier, we just got our own car and we'll be testing probably 3-4 more designs yet. I'm not going to stop developing because we hit 25-29whp up top. I think we should be able to hit 35 and retain the top end. We're also curious to see how shortening the exhaust system as a whole will impact power numbers. There are some overall length options that should preference midrange power while sacrificing nothing out of the top end. Exhaust cutout may be in order for maximum power. Perhaps something that is run off of a microcontroller, uses a high speed servo motor and can react to the location in the powerband to bias power. I'm serious, we're not pulling any punches designing for this car. Just a matter of time and how much we can spend on development and testing. So far we haven't even scratched the surface on what we want to accomplish for these cars.

That is what I am really interested in seeing. I want to see that torque dip eliminated and gain some grunt to be able to rip out of the corners.

I saw that, I was asking if you planned to dyno with a catless dp in tandem with both catted and catless headers. Thanks!

I'll be honest, downstream of the header I don't think removing or retaining the catalyst is going to make a damn bit of difference. High flow > Factory, but no cat at the secondary location will probably make zero performance gains vs. high flow. Additionally, having a catalyst in the system is an EXCELLENT method of reducing dB out of the tailpipe.

But leaving a cat in is leaving a single point of failure in the system. I'm sure the few of us who live in inspection-less states and do our own tuning (once the software comes out) will buy the catless versions.

Nameless and this car will be at the Big NW Meet this weekend at Pacific Raceways. I'm thinking of maybe doing the autocross, too, we'll see.

Hi Jason, nice wok on the header, this thread has been a great read.

Is there any plans for a unequal length header? I'm curious how it would sound!

Did Nameless get their FR-S in yet? Interested to see some of the new header designs tested.

Not going to happen. Unequells will result in a loss of power...

I'm interested too. I'd love to purchase one for the boxer rumble if the performance isn't too much worse than stock. I'd be extremely happy if it maintained stock performance.

Subaru's have been running unequals for 18+ years, when switching to equal systems, minimal gains are found and this is on hard tuned engines. I think even an unequal header would perform better then stock (happy to be proven wrong).

Only way to see how this engine reacts to an unequal system is for someone to put the R&D in and try it!
