My friends car got broken into with a iPod in sight but they didn't take it........

It's almost as if someone just bet the person to break in and that's it......

Maybe they're curious about the car and have been stalking you since you got home... Notices you forgot to lock the car and decided to jump in to sit and feel the car...

While sitting in the car; he probably thought about going through your glovebox compartment... Glovebox is usually the first place a thief goes to... Easily accessible, most valuables are stored here and plus, we don't have an armrest to hide stuff under... He probably didn't go through the trunk because going outside just to open the trunk will create attention from the surrounding.

Glad your car and your valuables in the trunk weren't stolen.

No. And there's no such thing as "shoot to wound".

Ever since I've gotten my car broken into (lost a backpack with wallet, laptop, etc.), I've stopped keeping stuff in there. This all happened in my front driveway in what I've thought was a quiet neighborhood.

Similarly, I've left my windows rolled down for 3 hours at a train station (BART) in a shaddy section of Oakland and have come back with everything untouched. Luck of the draw I guess...

Wtfff thats just effin weird... but I always double and triple check to make sure my doors are locked. He probably saw that you forgot to lock or something somehow. I just don't understand the flashlight scene either... This whole thing is just weird, "I'm gonna go inside this dudes BRZ, mess with things in there, and sit there for a bit"

That's really odd. I'd keep an out. Might have been scouting your car out. Good thing they didn't take anything.

Did he have to make my car a mess though? I just cleaned the interior before he violated my car.

I had lots of coins in my center cup holders. I was surprised to see them still there.

It didn't seem like he took anything. 40 minutes after the person left, a white 9th gen corolla drove by, stopped and flashed a flashlight at my car. Anyways, this person might be targeting frs/brz or maybe other sports cars or any car in general, so watch out for these people.

I think that corolla might be the city's rent a cop.

My friend gets hired by cities to drive around neighborhoods and communities to make sure no mischief is going on. I guess he/she might have shined their flashlight because.. maybe the cabin lights were on? Iono.
