It is officially socks and sandals week at work. I'm so excited. I'm going Chacos and ****ies socks. Might work some black or dark blue socks in later in the week. Maybe go for some compression socks too. Gotta switch it up.

Nothing really extreme, but:
* gash in paint on bumper * scrapes along front of bumper * marks of the metal bumper from the truck over the middle of my bumper * Subaru emblem is still "smooth" but inside it has cracks * paint/clear coat spider-webbing/lifting (getting bumpy I guess) near driver-side headlight * driver-side fender and bumper gap starting to sag and you can see through to the clips/inside * black rubber that separates the hood and bumper very clearly has been pushed in. evidenced by if you put your fingers on it from the passenger-side and slowly slide them over to the driver-side the black rubber is pinched and begins to go further down, if that makes sense, so the gap between bumper and hood doesn't have the rubber to keep the edges from hitting if they ever get close again The hood itself I haven't been able to visually see any damage, but it clearly buckles in the video, so I'll look to have that replaced due to structural integrity. So mostly cosmetic. But given the force, the fact that my car was pushed back a few inches, and the hood buckling plus damage listed I need to get some stuff looked at. I'll probably have them inspect the engine bay and area behind the bumper, like radiator support, etc. I'll ask to get the bumper replaced as well since the car's only 2 years new, so I don't want to deal with having to fix it and always have a not 100% clean bumper like it was before the accident.

i have a nephew that doesn't know who i am. he'd be 2.5 now. last i saw him, was his 1 year birthday party that almost didn't happen. been 1.5 years since my brother and his wife and kid have been anywhere near the rest of the family. all over petty BS. we've tried to make amends a number of different times, him and his wife come up with new reasons to hate us after every time. at this point, we as a family have tried everything we know how to do, as well as everything that any other 'expert' knows how to do, short of kidnapping them and dragging them to a family therapy session. the long and short of it is that they don't want to make amends with the rest of the family. it kills my mom, my dad gets quiet, and i laugh at it to displace the anger. the worst part is when there's nothing you can do. reach out--a lot easier now with all this internet stuff. if she lashes out, the pain still feels better than the emptiness. here's a foster puppy for your trouble. his name is kane. he's exhausted after 3 hours of play time.

I think sadly these days people in my generation and slightly older aren’t very open to communication. Not sure what it is exactly. It’s unfortunate.

IDK, but I really wish I hadn't fallen asleep for 4 hours earlier because I can't sleep at all right now. Maybe I'll just go into work early...

My daughter will be 26 this year. It all started around junior high. Her mother and I split when she was an infant. We had a typical custody arraignment: I had her every other weekend, and Wednesday nights. Once she got about junior high age I didn't want to be the dad that MADE her come to our house, since her life and friends were in her mother's neighborhood. So it has probably been more like 13 years since I have been in the same room as her for more than a hour or so. She just stopped coming around. I know she has had the same boyfriend since about 16. I have never seen or met him. My older sons used to keep in touch with her on Facebook or something, but when she didn't even come around when my dad died a year ago November, they cut her off. My son Joe says "she is dead to me". I hear she and her boyfriend live in Oregon now, but don't really know. I try to say, well, her choice, but it is still hard sometimes. I don't have any idea even what kind of person she is.
