Standard 200mm Toyota head units?

Hi, I couldn't find anywhere on this forum that has a solid list of the 200mm standard Toyota head units (OEM and not) for the FRS.

I'm just not interested in doing all of the armwork, and would like a plug-and-play head unit that's not a bespoke.

Any replies would be much appreciated

I got mine from a member here. There are a couple threads floating around regarding part numbers for the two items you will need. Then just shop around for the best price.

Install was easy as pie. Literally took me 15 minutes.

They are, but they aren't.

Yes, you can fit a Double-DIN radio.

No, it doesn't fit stock and you need an adapter. (something like 8-9 mm per side).

I have a "toyota-spec" kenwood one, it's the DDX749WBT as far as I can tell it's only in south america. and there's also a DDX630WBT model.

I checked ebay, and they are available in the US but for import.

Quite frankly I don't really like my kenwood, the EQ is crap, it's slow as hell, but it's still a lot better than the original Toyota radio that came iwth mine. (I even have a thread reviewing it). and I really didn't like the idea of using an adapter so I have to suck it up, and just use the darn thing.

The Canadian FR-S has a upgraded head unit that looks exactly like the Bespoke one, but without the useless Bespoke functions and without the iPhone only compatibility. Plus it leaves the USB and AUX ports functional unlike the Bespoke head unit. To top it all off, it's less than half the price of the Bespoke head unit.

I have the DDX630WBT and have none of the problems you describe.

Let me clarify my issues:

Crappy EQ- only 3 band, compared to other radios in the same price range, I could get a 7 or 8 band in sony or pioneer. But price is always relative, perhaps in Australia the price is not as high? Around here it's priced as high as top of the line in those other brands. Perhaps if I paid a lot less I'd be far less picky.

Slow as hell- means I have to wait a long time for the radio to scan the USB before it plays anything, I solved this using smaller USB sticks (opting for 4gb) instead of 8gb or 16gb. When you want to search for a song, it also takes a while. Another similar example is when choosing stuff on the DVD mode.

perhaps the DDX630WBT has an improved Firmware? Last update i've seen for mine is dated 2012.
