looks great!

quick question. the hose that runs directly under the bar on the right...was your's a bit stiff when you pushed it down? i was looking at my engine bay and noticed mine is solid and not really going anywhere and when i get my bar, i didn't want to damage the hose.

thoughts? thank you!

This car actually has an EGR system?..... I kinda doubt that.

For some reason, I was told that the bar interferes with the hose, but i guess not. Cool, thanks for the info.

Sorry to bump an old thread. Came across the Cusco strut bar w/ MBC stopper and got very intrigued. Definitely a nice looking and quality piece even though I probably don't need it. Where did you guys get yours? The best price I've seen is on Amazon for ~$230 shipped and possibly no sales tax for CA.

Cusco's solid strut bar is good if you race your car. It is not so good on street, because you make the car stiffer and you lose grip on uneven road pavement.

If that is happening then your suspension is not working properly. The strut bar should stiffen the chassis, the suspension should allow your tires to remain in contact with the road.

I don't like suspension to be an independent component. Everything should take part in the equation, like tires and chassis deformation.

I don't know about that. I have both a Front & Rear strut tower bar on my 2002 WRX and it greatly improved the handling.

I believe it will do the same on the 86..maybe a little less since the suspension is already leads ahead of my 02 wrx.

If your worried, there is always the STI flexible tower bar. I personally prefer the TRD one based on looks haha.

Thanks

Actually the STI flexible tower bar was my first mod in my Forester 5 years ago. I have another flexible tower bar in my BRZ. I avoid to install TRD things (religious war lol), but I saw recently that the flexible draw stifenners are also sold by TRD. Cusco parts are also very high quality, just wanted to emphasize that are a bit more hardcore (i.e. more track focused).
