Time to turn this forum around a bit. Supercharger has been very impressive.
Some big changes coming soon. Hopefully a few weeks [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=so5KE0i1rc0"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=so5KE0i1rc0[/ame]

So I finally got a chance to install and try out the Edelbrock specific "D-box" from Delicious tuning. Thanks @sales@delicioustuning.com for helping me out, always great customer service!
Install: Quick and easy. I actually got the unit on a Fri and I was so excited I did the whole install on the parking lot after work Didn't come with any instructions but very self explanatory, just unplug the "extension" harness that came with the SC kit and replace with the Dbox connectors (I believe its a couple TMAP's, a MAF and a MAP connector. I suggest you check out steps 160 & 161 on the Edelbrock install manual). I actually left the existing harness in place and just zip-tied them nearby, just in case something happens to the box. Took me about 10 mins to route the lines and another 10 mins of meticulous zip-tying to keep the lines clean. It also came with some adhesive-backed velcro to attach it to the fuse box lid, which worked pretty nicely. Impressions w/ Delicious tune Everything just feels "smoother". Can't really feel any difference when driving around normally. I did, however, notice the engine sound and feel "smoother"(less harsh) at the upper rev range when doing a a couple red line pulls. Butt dyno hints that there's more power there, but its probably measurement error. Also, prior to the D-box, I was actually getting some pretty bad "bucking", where I would violently jerk back and forth, like a newb stick-shift driver, when starting from stop or cruising at low speed (<25 mph). I felt that the car would initiate the "buck" and when I try to modulate the gas, it would jerk me forward, causing me to tap the gas again, further perpetuating the buck some more. About the only thing I can do to stop it is to let off the gas completely and clutch-in. This was part of the reason I got this unit as recommendation by Zach. Now, with the D-box, I think it has alleviated that quite a bit, with me being able to "modulate" it away once I feel it start, instead of having to clutch-in. Or its all placebo effect... and I just suck a driving... probably... Impressions w/ CARB tune: Pretty much the same impressions as above. Can't notice anything during regular driving, but much smoother on the upper rev range. Same butt dyno readings here. I never had the "bucking" issue with the CARB tune, but I think that was mostly due to the "softer" throttle mapping that it comes with. Over all, I'm happy with my purchase. I wouldn't say its a "must buy" but definitely a "nice to have" for a smoother driving experience. Now, I need to stop staring at that spot where the other "D-box" (FlexFuel) should be... |

I've noticed I get the same bucking even though I started on the D box. It only happens when the engine is cold on e85 though. After about 2 minutes, all of the bucking goes away.

I also have 4.88s and e-85 with the Edelbrock Supercharger. But mine is the automatic. Couldn't be more happy. Pretty easy to get sub 5 second 0 to 60 times.
Can't say enough about Shawn Church.. Had a glitch in the tune and he figured it out with out even putting the car on the dyne. He's the best. |
