How is Torque Measured? (EcuTek)

I was just thinking... when using EcuTek, I can get a parameter for "Torque Actual (Nm)." This popped a couple questions in my head. How accurate is this measurement, or better yet, how is this parameter determined/calculated? Based on my readings after a tune, I peaked out at nearly 179 ft-lbs of torque after I converted it from Nm. This leads me to believe it probably isn't all that accurate as I doubt I'm pushing 179 ft-lbs after a basic tune with no mods. I do notice that it follows the torque curve quite accurately based on the RPM in general. So I was just curious if anyone knew how this parameter is calculated while driving?

it is not measured, it is a fictitious value used to handle the throttle valve

if you modify the tune, you could even make it showing 900 Nm

don t look at it.
