Do you need to remove the shields if you install only the front pipe + catback? In the photos it looks like you have room in the little cut out in the rear shield to reach the bolts on the overpipe/frontpipe connection.

Yes you have to remove the fiberglass panel; No you do not need to drop the silver skin pan to replace the front pipe and over pipe. Unfortunately I do not have good pictures of this.

For proof, we did the Whiteline positive shift kit with only removing the fiberglass cover. We had to drop the front pipe to undo the transmission brace. see the below thread for more info

I've been begging for a race only spec header, not at all for street use type of product, for anyone truly serious about stuff like forced induction like a Vortech, not looking for the back pressures common in turbo applications, and not concerned with sound levels at all. Pure power maker, catless. Price wont matter to this customer, build quality and power will. Must be built for the abusive driver. For the guy who wants to do cams etc. That spec of product, that will marry the rest of your piping and cans from street use over to track duty.

Please?

Just install my header back Perrin yesterday bought from BRZ-Parts.com , everything works fine, no issue very well packing. I acutually switch from SRT(way too loud for me) lucky I sold before I get it hear one from my friend's FR-S with it. This header back is very high quality and very easy to install. I install all by myself with jack stand. 2.5 hours. Thank you for all the post before so that I can save tons of time. No drone at any speed. The sound is perfect for me. Did not really have time to try it just drive a day but rpm pick my very smooth and yes can feel more power too. Can't wait for Perrin's tune and intake!

Did my Perrin headerback installation today. Looks like the OP and I had the same gorilla torque that nut down from the front pipe to overpipe. Unfortunately, I didn't get lucky and have the stud snap on me. Instead, the nut was seized and when I put some heat on it to try to remove, the nut stripped the threads on the stud and just spun in place. Had to Dremel the nut off. That added another couple hours to the job, but it's all installed now. Only thing that I discovered is that one of the locking collars was missing a set screw so I'll have to call Perrin.

I put my Perrin headerback on today. Surprisingly easy, it took about 3 hours without a lift.

The longest part was getting the car up on all 4 jackstands and taking the damn under trays off.

Installed frontpipe and overpipe yesterday to complete my headerback. Changed the tone of the exhaust dramatically compared to just the catback section!

Are you running the catless front pipe or catted? And are you resonated or non?
