on a serious note i think we should just give up on the issue. toyota wont do anything.
Even replacement of the whole car is no guarantee! Somewhere on one of the 1,000,832 cricket related threads is a list of other cars that have the same thing. Don't remember what they were specifically but do recall we were in good company and there were more of them than most would believe.

I finally started using about 2oz of Lucas ucl in each full tank. Quieted right down. Skip it and it comes right back. Now I just put it in each full tank, even in the winter. Works great for me!

Just saying you can save the oil in the winter. My crickets seem to go away when ambient temperatures are below 40 F.

The noise bugs me on some days, even in the winter, so for me the ucl is th solution.

Wait, are we talking about zombies or crickets now? Pretty sure with the amount that this thread has been resurrected, it could be either.

Oh dear God....it couldn't be...Zombie Crickets?!?!?

So did I!
Someplace on here there is a list of at least 10 other make and models with the exact same noise. It has been months since I read it though so don't have much hope of finding it again.

Then you need a zombie cricket bat to get rid of them!

Well, only if the crickets travel single file in order to hide their numbers.
