He is still a kitten so each and every person, tree, post, etc has now been knocked over at least once. It is fun to catch him napping and turn on the train complete with very loud whistle.

Actually, if you are sitting watching TV they both want to crawl up with you.

Well, last week was an expensive "cat" week. One of our stray/hobo/most of the times lives here/ fixed male cat (someone had it fixed) disappeared a couple weeks ago.

Our 12 year old granddaughter was crushed because that cat was her study buddy here at home. She spotted the cat on the city pound web site and ask her parents if they would go pick it up. They said no, it wasn't their cat and they already have enough cats.

So, the next day she brought $100 of her own savings up to our house and ask ma-ma if she would take her up to the pound to bail it out. So, ma-ma (who didn't take her money) took her up to the pound to post bail.

Now, there was two ways to get the cat released, claim it as your own and pay a fine OR adopt it and pay a adoption fee (that included shots, a license, a chip and a tag). Since it was cheaper to adopt it, she went that route.

Reminds me of the story about the two housewives who lived in San Diego, that went down to Tijuana to spend the day and evening shopping. Late in the day, the authorities arrested them for prostitution without a license. Their husbands, who were both lawyers, went down to bail them out. When they found out that buying them each a prostitute license was cheaper that their bail (fine), they bought them each a license, which they had framed and put on the walls in their respective homes.

The "report" revealed that the cat was "turned in/captured" by someone that lives in the XXXX block of XXrd Ave SE, for "trespassing" on their property. We live at XXXX, so I reckon it was a close by neighbor that captured the beast.

How in the hell does one keep an outdoor/indoor cat within your property bounds?

Oh, well, at least we have a "legal" cat and a happy granddaughter, which I reckon was worth the $150.

THE END

This is why I started decorating the wine rack with Christmas lights a few years back.

Well, that and screw pine needles.

first, this. keep up, it's all related(at least in my mind):
https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood...baby-yoda-eggs

i'm slowly learning/denying that city folk have no concept of 'natural selection', where food comes from, or any sort of reality outside the concrete jungle they reside in.

eggs mysteriously appear in nice styrofoam containers with a barcode and a best-by date on them. beef comes in slices. bacon comes in strips in a nice little package...

i've seen plenty of 'stray' cats in neighborhoods. most times, it's pretty easy to determine if they're actually roaming stray's, or if someone's caring for them by the area's they tend to frequent.

i'd never turn a looked-after cat in... the neighborhood is better for it, keeping the mouse population down!

Not really. They kill songbird, quail, and other bird populations, and spread disease, and make more unwanted cats.

Cats are the only animal you can buy the just say, "go f___ around in everyone else's yard".

Feral cats are not part of natural selection.

Expensive? $150?

The story on Catzilla. Back in early March we had to give up our female cat (her and the white one's story here https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show...&postcount=527 ) as she had become so territorial due to stray cats outside that she literally lost her mind. She sprayed every opening to outside and would viscously attack her brother or even us if there was even a hint of a cat outside. She went to a home where she was the only pet and was not exposed to strays outside. We were devastated but it had to happen.
Shortly after we got rid of her one of the feral cats (that caused all the issues) moved her babies under our side deck. We let them alone for a while but she slowly started spending more and more time away and we eventually had to act. There were 5 of them and they were completely feral. They would hide as soon as they saw you and if you cornered one they became total wild spitting and scratching (well trying to they were still really small). We caught the first two which were an al black much smaller than the rest and the black and white one and I kept them in my sun porch while we tried to get the rest. The others were too fast and eventually we had to get a rescue place in with a trap and they got the mother nd two more of the babes. The last one was never caught and just disappeared after a few weeks.
Well we slowly were getting the two we caught used to people and eventually they would let us handle them. My wife decided we were going to keep one so I picked the black and white one. My son took the other.
So now we had a new kitten. We took him into the vet for a checkup and shots and eventually to be fixed. The grand total was about $800! If we had turned him into the shelter and waited for them to do it all he would have cost us $100 IF we managed to get him back.

Now they are both big healthy boys!

Some timeline pics of him and his brother in the wild and eventually being members of the families.

just a reminder hum, this is a publicly searchable forum, and the internet at large isn't a very friendly place... i don't want to see any harm come to you or your family over a good story!

We have easily had the $800 worth of entertainment out of his antics in the last 7 months since we brought him in.
