Ill use my Castro oil over any brand. but with my FRS, its looking like im gonna have to run Mobil1

Mobil1 is the only brand i can find in 0w20 at my local store without having to drive 15 miles to the dealer..

another quick question!!!!!

Just want an opinion , rather its a hate or not, doesnt matter
i would like to hear what you all think!

Mobil1
Advanced Fuel Economy
Advanced Full Synthetic
0w20

What do you all think of this oil in the FR-S???
If you hate on it and think its bad, please let me know
Thats all i really want to know if i should use this oil in my car for my very first oil change.
My FR-S has 1600 Miles on it only and this would be my very first oil change since i purchased it. I will be using an OEM Subaru Oil Filter with it.

Any thoughts on this oil???

Thanks!

Can't speak for the M1 0w20 but we've been using Motul coupled with the OEM Subie filters on the 2011+ WRXs and STis and they've been loving it both in terms of oil consumption as well as UOAs.

There is very little data on any oil in an FR-S/BRZ at this point. The oil does produce very good uoa results in other cars though.

Whether or not you use Mobil1 0W-20 or Motul 0W-20, I would keep the oil in for at least 3,750 miles though. The factory fill is more robust than the Mobil1 or Motul unless you plan to use Motul 300V.

Some people believe that the additive pack in a factory fill (more moly, zinc, and phosphorus) aids in the break in process. If you contact Idemitsu about the factory fill, and whether or not you should "OMG the factory fill has large metals bits, I must drain it!" they will tell you to follow the factory recommendations. I've seen factory fill uoa's on WRX's be pushed to 5,000+ miles.
