So I added shims as per ermax's diy. But i used a piece of alcohol bottle (same material as a milk jug only it's flatter) as per Ultra's suggestion and it really works great. I just did it today so how it holds up, I don't know. It was a bit of a PITA to do. When the assembly is off the car, the friction is extreme. The only way to get the blocks out and back in is to have the black plastic thing extended as if the door was fully closed. Makes attaching it back to the car difficult but not impossible. Also the thickness of the "milk jug" is just about as thick as you can go and still retain the "nubs" on the white plastic things. I would highly recommend this procedure for anyone who parks on hills alot. |

Bumpity. I want a solution. Perhaps replace the rubber insert in the door detent with a more robust material?
Please stop throwing us off topic talking about canadian milk and the 50s thanks. |

Did you ever try making shims? Doesn't have to be milk jugs. You could cut up one of Wendy's plastic cups.
