^^In terms of idle and engine performance, is it truly fixed, or is it merely better than it was?

I would say fixed for me. As traumatic as the whole experience was the only dips I get now are shutters from ac or a little idle bounce at a stop when it's doing its thing injector wise. I've since modded and tuned without a hiccup so far. I would be lying if I said I wasn't still afraid of all of it coming back. Once you've posted in this thread the thought is always there in the back corner of ones mind. But I have gone too far with changes to look back.
I found a great mechanic that is worth the drive and will no longer visit a dealer for anything. I had faith in them with my ecu issue but lost it with minor maintenance.

^^I haven't seen your posts in a while, so I may have missed something. Did the dealer resolve your ecu/idle issue, or did your mechanic come up with the remedy?

Thanks.

yes it has been a long time!!! 2 sets of codes, new cams and valves, more codes then ecu flash. After the flash all was well so the dealer resolved that and subaru was very understanding. I have since done some things and had a tune and still no issue. Hit 13k last night on my way home from work!

See if you can find out which ECU you have...the number ends in 10, 11, or 12 (being the newest)

Hey guys, I don't really know if this is a problem, but a lot of users are complaining about rear axels which are braking after some period.

I am doing some slalom and sporty driving, so mine broke up at 6,500km.

Are you running a stock powertrain? Stock rear suspension? Stock rims, tires, spacers? Alignment?

Just tryng to get the complete picture.

Thanks.

Looks like I will have to put off my Innovate supercharger install. My CEL just came on with error codes of P0303 and P219A. I pulled them with the torque app on my phone so I am not sure how accurate they are. Will be going to the dealership tomorrow hopefully it wont take to long to fix. Engine also seems to be running really rough and making a lot of valve train chatter. Does not sound good..

I got the check engine light and traction control light at about 3000m. I took it to the dealer and they said it was because my gas cap was lose. I know that makes sense for the check engine light, but the traction light in combination???

I usually check the gas cap first thing when the CEL comes on and when I take in to the dealer to look at it I tell them that I checked it. Keep an eye on it, if it doesn't come back on you are lucky, but if it does take right back to the dealer.

What I am curious about is would - COULD a loose gas cap make the traction light come on??? (in combination with the CEL)

Are these cars throttle by wire? If so TC could get disabled as a safety feature. In the ODB specifications if certain types of faults are detected the engine program switches to a limp in mode set of static parameters killing automatic controls like TC. Cars that are throttle by wire give TC the ability to close the throttle plate regardless of what the accel pedal is doing. closing the throttle plate to reduce engine power is preferred than to killing an injector or spark because it messes up your emissions.

A loose/missing gas cap usually triggers a EVAP Large leak code. This is considered a severe fault as you have a leak severe enough to possibly allow raw fuel out. Ford years ago added a second EVAP test valve to the gas filler that triggered a gas cap light on the dash.

When I was a mechanic I would get almost 1 case a month for engine code diag due to gas caps being left off or loose. It happens..
