[NY - LI] TPMS Reprogramming

Hey guys, I should be receiving my ATEQ Quickset tool this week that will let me re-program the ECU's TPMS registers every Spring/Fall when I swap between my summer and winter sets. Since Subaru/Toyota didn't give us a user-friendly way of switching these ourselves, the only other option is to keep going to the dealer to have it reprogrammed via Techstream at $50 a shot.

Anyway, I figured since I got it anyway, I might as well help some local folks out. If you have two sets of TPMS that you need to go back and forth with and you don't have the means yourself and don't want to get reamed $100 a year at the dealer, I'd be happy to do it for you if you can make your way out to me. I'm in the middle of Long Island.

Hopefully this frigid weather we got this week doesn't stick around for long and we can start going back to summer tires

Bit far away for me, but a very nice offer. Do you know if the $50 reset is universal? Just checked my bill from when I had my snows put on and I didn't see a charge for resetting the TPMS.

If your dealer sold you your snows and the wheels/TPMS that go with it, they probably reset the TPMS for free as a courtesy. If you go back and ask them to reprogram it when you put your summers back on, they'll most likely hit you with the $50 fee, and again when you go back next winter. Unless you have a really cool dealer, of course.

I think this must be it. They've been very nice so far. The day I bought the car, I only got about 2 miles away from the dealership before I had to go back for the low idle/CEL/stalling issue. Since then they've been bending over backwards for me.

Hey guys is it 100% affirmative that if I shell out $149 that the quickset works on the BRZ? The stealership in SanDiego wants at least $120 for resetting my TPMS and I would rather have something tangible in my hands for that money. The tire place that I use tried twice to reset my TPMS to no avail. I don't remember what gear they were using.

Affirmative. I swap back and forth twice a year, no issues. This is on a '13 BRZ LTD.
