I have those in 17x7 on my BRZ. I originally bought them for my Forester and used them for a couple of years, but when I got my BRZ I decided it needed the lightweight wheels worse than my FXT did. Tire Rack lists the weight for the 5x100 50mm offset K1 TS as 14.6 lbs at $196 each. For some reason TR doesn't list the K1 TS as fitting the BRZ, but it fits the BRZ just fine.

The regular Enkei PF01 wheels aren't all that heavy. They are around 17lbs for a 17x8 wheel.

I always like the old OZ Superleggera wheels, very lightweight, too bad they no longer make them.

But nothing beats the Kosei rims for price/weight.

5zigen FN0R1-C wheels are pretty light also and not too expensive, less than $300/wheel.

The problem with most lightweight affordable wheels is their offset. The Kosei K4R is one of the only lightweight, affordable 17x8 wheels with a proper offset - keeping the center line of the wheel the same as the stock 17x7 setup. Most all other wheels are 45-48mm offset for an 8" wheel width. Might as well go with a 7" wheel width if you want a 45mm offset...and save some weight in the process.

That's actually incorrect. Offset measures from the center line to the face of the wheel hub. So an 8" +48 and a 7" +48 both keep the same center line. Now, with an 8", clearance to the strut becomes tighter by 13mm at the same offset. If this is too close, going to a +40 or +43 could improve the fitment at the cost of moving the centerline out slightly.

I apologize SubieNate. I keep thinking for some reason that when going wider you want to change the offset by half of the total increase in width to compensate for the additional width. That would keep the same backspacing but move centerline by that ammount. Over thinking things is not good sometime...

I will say I do like the responsiveness and quicker turn in of the +36mm 17x8 K4R's on 215/45-17Kumho Ecsta XS's.

The nice thing about the offset being higher than needed is that you can run spacers to push the wheels out if needed. Much easier than maching material off the back of the wheel to increase the offset

17x8 +50 with a 10mm spacer all around would fit pretty nicely.

Team Dynamic Racing - Pro Race 1.2 a bit less than 9kg (18lb) for the 17" but they are very strong. Used by V8 Supercars, UK production Touring and many Lotus teams.. I bought 8 for $2500- Aus delivered by air from the UK. (Mates rates) but they are different and a genuine comp wheel. Just my thoughts.

I like the Team Dynamics a lot but I've heard varying reports on their weight. Some websites list the 18's as 19.8 lbs (Not too bad) others list them at closer to 22 which is a bit heavy. Supposedly in higher offsets the 17's run a bit heavier as well.

They seem to be a good weight/dollar wheel, but reading online across a number of forums I question their QC.

kosei makes some good wheels that are pretty light, inexpensive, and have offsets that fit nicely. Motegi has some nice wheels, but I don't like their conservative offsets.

I am running 18x9 Phatfux Ballzy wheels (see my sig) and pretty impressed at the value/lb. While not superlight like RPF1 and Kosei, they are well priced.

18x9" at 18.9 lbs each for $200/wheel.
Also a 17x8 available in a good +35 offset and weigh 17.6 lbs.
