Canadian fuel economy different rating
Check this out:
http://www.scion.ca/scion/en/vehicle...tions/capacity Near the bottom, economy is listed as 29 city, and 43 highway? Hope they're right! |

The car isn't going to magically get better MPG because it's north of the border
Canada vs US gov't rating methods aside, the difference is because they are using Imperial gallons (as they clearly state on the page) and not US gallons.

If anything they'll get worse mileage due to the longer amount of time they have winter blend gasoline up there.

It's the difference between Canadian and US rating systems as well. Whatever the Canadian govt is doing is producing higher numbers.
http://oee.nrcan.gc.ca//transportati...ngs-search.cfm Plug in some cars and then see what they say they get in the US. The Canadian numbers will be higher.

I'm pretty sure that when driven properly, this car will have no problem getting 40 mpg u.s. I can get my 1993 accord to get that kind of mileage with using the manual correctly and just being smart about it.

Maybe the automatic version, at 55 MPH, but I doubt the manual could get anywhere close to 40 MPG. My tC is rated at 31 MPG and the highest MPG I ever got was over 34 MPG cruising at 55 MPH. 40 MPG would be 10 MPG over what the manual 86 is rated for.

The guy driving the WRB limited around texas told us he was getting 37 mpg on the highway.
Obviously this is just what he said and I have no proof, but he isn't making any money off selling the car, so why lie? |

Awesome! I'd believe it for sure, I easily got 5 mpg more than rated in my old Prelude.

Is that for the manual transmission? Awesome. I've seen that MT WRB Limited in person at my local dealer too, and it already had 3K miles on its odometer. Pretty sure he wasn't lying.
