Key Fob Modification

I don't know why this hasn't been done? Or it has I just couldn't fine it. I finally measured all the necessary dimensions of the key fob and made myself a slimmer key fob with only the absolute necessary (not those slip on key fob cover). Cause I think everyone agrees we have an ugly key fob.

Turning this one:

Into this

The picture above is straight out of the 3D printer, if you want a smooth surface you'll need to polish it.

So some important notes:
1. No more physical key, because space saving
2. No trunk release button on your key fob

If you have a 3D printer and want to make one yourself, please inbox me and I'll send you the step/stl files. I once got help from a fellow member on this forum on a 3D printed parts so I wanted to give back to the community.

I think this count as a cosmetic modification?

Peace.

It has been done by somebody at the Land Cruiser forum:

https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/yot...l-kit.1122566/

Store link:
https://store.yotamd.com/collections...t-round-button

Yours has a couple of flaws in my opinion:

1. No physical key. No way to unlock the car if either the car battery or the key battery goes dead.

2. No hole for a key ring. No way to hook it to your carbiner with your other keys, keychain or hang it on a valet/dealership key box

If i'd wish for any modification to keyfob, then it would be to enable to fit other more common batteries instead of rare CR1632.

I sent an email asking about 2015+ BRZ compatibility. The 2015+ key design is common for all keyless entry Subarus. He said he would add it to the list, but it would probably help to have other people ask for the same thing.

Thanks mate I didn't know about that. And thanks for your opinion too.

Unfortunately my key isn't the same as the one on Yotamd, I don't have an alarm button but a truck release button and it's in a different place. But that one really looks cool.

Yup I have the same key too. I contacted YotaMD and he said he will make a key fob for us

I have the AJT Designs key fob for my RS2. You lose the trunk button but the key fob looks awesome. He has a bunch of different colors shells and buttons.

It just isn’t different enough in size to pay $75. Keyless entry should be tied to a phone or wallet sized card like on a Tesla.

Exactly my thought. But the current electronics are too bulky, can't do much about that

I would rather have my money go towards a system like this.
