I don't smoke but my gf has a friend that's been a heavy smoker all her life. She recently switched to this iQOS device that was purchased from Japan which takes a special size Marlboro cigarettes. The device would heat up the stick instead of burning, and there is no smoke or heavy smell to it. IIRC she's actually smoking less now, but the purpose was just to get rid of the smoke and smell indoors. Looks like a modern pipe to me.

I've actually came across a lot of older folks at work that have managed to quit by cold turkey.

Currently in the process right now. I just did cold turkey. I was out on the balcony the other day with the girlfriend, looked at her and said "I'm quitting smoking. This is gross".

Helps if you don't hang around other smokers

Not personal experience (I'm actually allergic to something in tobacco) but I have heard from a few friends that cold turkey is still the easiest for long term results because it forces you to face the craving... And that will find you still over the years. Find something to do with your hands, and something to chew when it gets tough. The friend I remember chose chewing plastic stir sticks, and twirling pens/pencils...

Hang in there, and good luck.

Unfortunately it also helps if you avoid places/situations where you smoke socially...

Tough on friendships.

All kidding aside, no. My photos would probably be the same. @p1l0t, clean your damn mask.

Awakened before sunrise to the sound of chicken chaos. Grandson failed to close the coop. Hungry raccoon got to one.

As Mark Twain once said "Giving up smoking is the easiest thing in the world. I know because I've done it thousands of*times". ...

I've tried:

* the patch
* hypnosis (twice)
* vaping
* nicogum
* Chantix
* cold turkey

Every time, I have failed ....... so .......
