I saw a video where a Toyota engineer was claiming that high grip tyres are to blame for their cars becoming so boring.

If you change the tyres on this car, it will turn into a Camry.

Camry tires suck even worse and they are still boring.

I'll change them for traction for autocross, track and better braking.

In the dry anyway...

Woe be to you when it rains :/ But jesus christ will you love a dry track day

EDIT :: It's not that they won't work in the dry better than All Seasons, but they don't communicate that they are about to spin you as you're hitting that limit

That is the OEM size tire list available from Tirerack. But of course they don't carry all tire manufacturers...Nitto, etc.

Michelin don't do any of the sports tyres in the FR-S's size.

The Primacy HPs wouldn't be a bad option (the same as the prototypes) with a second set of track days tyres along side. Sensible grip level in wet and dry hard wearing but not overly grippy to still allow some sliding at road speeds if you want to have some fun.

If you put semislicks on it is likely that you will never be able to get the back end out under power as the car doesn't have the 400+BHP of a real drifter.
